Theres quite a bit of insecurity surrounding DoubleJ and Loudon. Loudon will do anything to get my attention and DoubleJ is smarting from trying to debate subjects he wasnt familiar with and getting owned.
A poster like yourself isnt suffering the same insecurities and just looks at the post for the facts presented rather than looking for something more that isnt

That is how I see it. Froch was a decent fighter and one I liked but I agree that I think his limitations were what made him popular. Almost every fight was a war whereas I dont think many of the top SMWs would have had as many struggles every time

Froch is probably Ward's best win

Ward won that one without much controversy

If he'd done it by Quessnsbery rules.....

    1. Kovalev
    2. Kessler
    3. Froch

He didnt.... lost to Kovalev in most people's eyes then lowballed him to Bolive in the rematch, and butted Kessler's eye shut

    Froch it is

His best performance is probably Kovalev 1. He showed a lot of grit and to come back and make it close

Very full of your own opinions aren't you? Normally someone who tries put them across by accusing somebody else of "not knowing what they're talking about" is covering themself....I won't do the same to you.

As been mentioned before, not only by me, you are really getting too caught up on stats here. You aren't taking into account any context whatsoever. A fatal flaw in your argument.

There's not going to be any point in us arguing when you're going to say things like those guys weren't top SMW's at that point. Those were big wins and Abraham coming off a DQ loss after also getting cut during that fight and being low blowed regularly by Dirrell hahaha. Come on man, it's pretty clear what your type is, one who won't accept any argument against their own, to the point where you'll twist information, as you have done to suit your argument, and then tried to justify it using the word "exaggerating" instead.

The Groves comments are a joke. He has proven he isn't British level at all, and I think a big part of why the fights were so competitive is that Froch wrongly perceived him to be that too, just as you clearly are/did and got proven wrong.

It's absolutely not like saying that at all. The guys were talking about here were hot prospects tipped with a good chance at Froch at the time and not debutants.

You're hard to reason with, and I think it's because you get too caught up on the technicality of boxing. That's a mistake, great technical boxers are fantastic, but so are big bruising brawlers and ultra defensive outboxers. It isn't about how they look essentially it is about how they do, and Carl Froch had a slightly better career than Kessler in my opinion, for the reasons I already gave and is therefore the best name on the record of Andre Ward.
They are almost neck and neck and I won't argue anyone tipping it to Kessler but your opinion that seemingly they're miles apart in favour of Kessler is frankly ridiculous as others have too, pointed out (hint?)

I don't see how it tops stopping Kov at LHW.

What upsets posters, is your obsession with stats without taking anything else into account.

No, not if they're applied along with context.

You have just typed out the same stats as before.

You are the one with the agenda.

You're now using stats to try and enhance Andre's win over Kessler. Yet for the last 3 years or so, you've told me and others that you don't regard Andre's win over Kessler that highly, as YOU PERSONALLY felt as though he was:

    Ill
    Rusty
    Faded
    Having serious eye issues.

    YOUR WORDS.

    This is what you do.

On various Andre-Joe threads, you've pulled apart Andre's win over Kessler. Yet here you are now going the other way.

Now if you really feel that way about his win over Kessler, you can't rate the win higher than his wins over Kovalev at LHW.

You are the one who is being pathetic.

In a debate looking at who would have won/who was the best in-between Joe-Andre, you downgrade all of Andre's wins.

    Froch: Faded.

Kessler: Faded, unwell, rusty and with eye issues.

Yet if Joe isn't directly mentioned and you don't feel as threatened, the wins get magically upgraded.

If you want examples, I'm sure I can find them.

Everyone on here is full of their own opinions so please dont think you are any different particularly with this long post.
I know exactly what I am talking about when it comes to the SMW division as I have watched it from the start with it being my favourite division Leonard/Hearns 2
You are only referring to people like Loudon and DoubleJ who are smarting from me correcting them.
I dont care as much for stats as you or anyone else would like to think but do think they can show some importance and you do have to look at the stats to see where a fighter was at that time, otherwise more credit should go to C Mitchell who beat Hopkins on his debut and I dont read anything into that
I dont need to make an argument when it has happened in front of you. Abraham was coming off a loss and wasnt a fully fledged SMW. At that time he was saying he was too small for the division. I never said anything about Dirrell landing low blows???
They were big wins because of a competition not because of what they had done. You cant compare any of Frochs wins leading up to Ward as, as good a SMW win as Kesslers over Lucas for example, let alone Mundine or Beyer which is probably bigger and could be argued bigger than all of Frochs SMW wins bar the Kessler fight, but no question that unification win Kessler had their was bigger than anything Froch had done at that point
At that time groves was. Many doubted him due to his struggles with Anderson.
I didnt doubt Groves to do well against Froch (I picked for Groves in that first fight and thought he would win if he didnt get caught), but that was because Froch has been outboxed so many times
Hot prospects doesnt mean good it means not proven and none were at SMW
Im not trying to argue who had a better career, we are talking the better win for Ward and at that time Kessler was IMO his greater win as shown with Kessler beating Froch whilst coming off a loss and with eye problems.
Also where they were at that time. Kessler was then more proven, with a greater resume and would beat Froch in his fight after. Froch was having at that time several disputed decisions against lesser fighters than the SMW champs Kessler had faced at that time who were still rated.

I wonder if the Super 6 hype caught you up a bit?

See? YOU are bringing up Joe. Not me. You want to go on about him again and that is down to pathetic insecurity I feel. Sorry to say even
