Your a ****ing nob mate seriously. Bitching about professional athletes who risk their lives in the ring on the internet. Aren't you hard.
lol Froch has one bad showing over a speedster with pretty fast hands and you guys down grade him to de lean status. Froch is a good fighter. Hits hard, and has a decent chin. But he will always have a hard time dealing with boxers that can take a punch. Sorta like Pacquiao with counterpunchers, and mosley to tall guys with long jabs.
Bad? As models of pure boxing, compared to a Sugar Ray? Yeah, okay... They've both done quite well with their styles on the whole. While Froch is the only one of the three with the undefeated record I do not think he's as effective within his style as they are. He could very easily have 2 losses on his record right now with a slight tweak of external factors beyond his control (Jermain hanging on for twenty seconds; judges giving another couple of close rounds to Dirrell) - and that leaves his best win against a weight-drained and temporarily ******ed Pascal. He looked like a beast smashing guys like Rybacki, Porras, and an old Reid - but he doesn't have any convincing, creditable wins of the caliber of Penalosa, Seeger, Lopez, Bailey, Ngoudjo (or even Looknongyangtoy, Bautista, Rabah and Lucero).
It has nothing to do with Froch being British and everything to do with Froch being awful. Nigel Benn and Lennox Lewis were more adept at seriously ****ing hurting people and yet managed not to look like talentless clowns in the process. Calzaghe, whatever his faults, is WORLDS better than Froch (and all of the Super Six competitors at this stage). Don't get so butt-hurt that one of your World Champions is a classless hack who lucked his way into a belt, there are and were plenty of fine British boxers out there, Froch just isn't one of them.
Thats what we're talking about :good Fighters at the top of the sport who look like they walked into a gym 10 minutes ago.
Dude, there's all different styles. You rate by efficacy, not by what's pretty. And I'm a huge mark for pure, technical boxers. I still have to give it up to guys who find success through alternative means, though. That George Foreman sure was a shitty heavyweight, huh? :!:
Finally some decent banter :happy:happy We know he aint the best. But he certainly aint the worst. Decent amateur, good solid world champ that won't make HOF or anything. He'll fight anyone anywhere, just a bit of respect is needed i feel
The only time Froch looks anything close to good is when he's hitting a guy that is stationary in front of him. Like a tired JT, or a B-Level Pascal fighting a D-Level fight. Even in victory he does not impress, any more than I'd be impressed by a guy doing bagwork (sloppy bagwork). He's a joke and he'll be relegated to gatekeeper status or worse by the end of this tournament.
You've obviously put in a few gym hours. The pressures of the gay community can't be easy fella. your a handlebar moustache away from the village people
:nono Being constantly off blance and in poor position, getting caught flush with straight punches, not knowing how to slip, parry or even block a straight punch, winging punches from poor angles with no set up etc. Thats not a style, thats just being bad at a big part of boxing. There are skills involved in every style; being a pressure fighter for example takes a lot of skill you know.
This is the fella 26-0(20) who is so talentless his last three fights are Pascal W12 (unbeaten going in, and now 175 WBC champ with two defences) Taylor KO12 (away from home in his FIRST defence) Dirrell W12 (unbeaten going in)
My girl watching the fight with me put it best. Watching Froch is like watching Darchinyan. Like Vic, when he's in there with a tailor-made "victim" (or a world class opponent who can be goaded into a firefight) he looks like a blood and guts warrior. ie: Burgos (victim), Mijares (world class opponent lured into a firefight), Arce (a little from column A and a little from column B), etc. ie: Rybacki (victim), Pascal (world class opponents lured into a firefight) and Taylor (a little from column A and a little from column B), etc. Like Vic, when he's in there with literally any style that spoils rather than encourages his own and is itself ugly - he looks beyond amateurish...foolish, in fact. ie: Agbeko (ugly, ugly, ugly fighter - headbutts, rough-housing etc.) ie: Dirrell (running, holding, exposing the top of his head)
I respect his willingness to fight anyone, but his pre and post fight banter shows a lack of self-awareness that is shocking even in a world champion boxer, who tend not be the most self-aware people. No one other than Froch could muster even the slightest braggadocio after that Dirrell fight, but somehow me managed to be smug and preening despite putting on a completely awful performance in every respect. And as much as he'd like to hang that on Dirrell it takes two to make a fight and it also takes two to ruin a fight. If Froch was anywhere near as good as he wants people to believe he could have cut off the ring and made Dirrell pay for his many defensive mistakes. Instead he was content to claim victory, say that he was never flustered or hurt, which is clearly bull****, and blame Dirrell for everything. Classless, and if he had the talent to back it up it might be excusable, but he doesn't, so he just comes across as arrogant and dim. Which is why some people, myself included, can't wait to see Kessler humble him.
