Froch is just an average fighter with an incredible chin, probably the best I've ever seen.

He has an unbreakable chin but he's easy to hit, so his opponents catch him with big shots, assume they have him hurt, then use up their energy trying to finish him.

All he has to do is ride out the storm then take them out when they have nothing left. It works time and time again.

He gets put down but that only serves as an 'on' switch for his granite chin mode and from that moment on he is unbreakable. I honestly don't know how he does it.

Don't know if I'd rate it that high. He has been down twice after all, and against a fighter coming from a division below him.

But no doubt that Froch is an iron chinned hero, who harbors one of the better chins of this generation.

I salute iron chinned warriors like Carl "international superstar" Froch :deal

    1 of the best chins!

Froch is weak when he leaps into a punch. But he didnt even go down the 2 times Kessler flashed him, and when Grooves did, He came back up!

Absolutely an ATG chin. Its not a Lamotta/Hagler/Chuvalo chin, but just a shade below. If I was rating it on a 1-10 scale it would be a 9.7 or so. The only other major fighter I can think of in the last ten years I would put ahead of his would be Margarito's.

Dumb thread. Good chin, but the GOAT chin such as Chuvalo was never on the canvas against the most elite HW era.

Well I dont think his chin is that great to be rated as a ATG chin. I would have Wayne McCulloughs chin miles ahead his chin is 1 of the best chins out there. He was in with bangers and took there best and seen those fights to the end.

Seeing as how he keeps his hands down and often gets hit with the opponents best punches, hes got a better chin than most other iron-chinned fighters or ones who have faced bigger punchers, who try and use more of a defense.

Overrated chin. Ridiculous toughness and ability to recover.

Also as some other posters have mentioned he hasnt really faced many big punchers. To be rated as an ATG chin Froch would have to move up to LHV and take flush shots from Kovalev and Superman and stay on his feet 12 rounds
