imn sick of people saying thats its great and hes fought great fighter after great fighter. like hes got the resume of a ray leonard, dela hoya, tommy hearns imn sick of this froch being a modern great theres only one potentially great fighter (ward) and he got comprehensively beaten there mostly good/ok fighters. kessler and dirrell it can be said were very good and he arguable lost to both we dont know how good bute is. arthur abrham was decent at best he did nothohng of distinction. a still good taylor was beating him clearly. glenn johnson had seen better days and was coming down in weight. froch struggled with him pascal is a really strong good fighter who froch deserves a lot of credit for outslugging in 2008. if hopkins hadnt of schooled him last year we may be giving carl more credit for that win imn no froch hater. hes been great for boxing. the win over bute was a great performance but that and the facts hes fought all the top super middles of his generation doesnt make him him great if some of the guys he beat were outstanding/potential greats i would say an argument could be made but we use the word great too much nowadays especially in boxing because the standards have lowered froch still has time to enhance himself. he stil looks like hes improving as a fighter. but please stop insulting boxing history by saying hes great
Im no Froch fan, but only a fool would argue with his resume, its outstanding for a modern day brit fighter, as much as it pains me to say it! Win lose or draw hes fought the lot, you cant ask for any more.
I'm not a fan or like him and his limited ability but his resume is quality! And as much as I dislike him I respect him fully! Fought the lot n beat most!!
I AM NOT ARGUING that his resume isnt quality imn just saying he hasnt really fought many special fighters in ten twenty years time will we still be talking about kessler, abrham, pascal and the others like we still talk about benn, eubank, toney, mcllelan, jones, nunn and so on. NO the guy we wil talk about is ward
he has to be given ultimate credit for fighting everyone around his weight. floyd mayweather has never did this. manny hasnt is well. there are a lot of good decent top fighters they never fought at gthe division they have competed in
Yep. I mean we look back on Eubank's career and even Benn's and go ''what if he fought him and him''. Froch came just at the wrong time, Joe didn't fancy the fight and wanted the more glamour fights but Carl's made best use of his career fighting the very best around. It's not a list of Elite ATG's but it's full of world class fighters, Good world class fighters as well. I'd like to see him really enhance his legacy in his final few years and polish it off and sensational style.
who is saying he's a modern great and he's fought great fighters? I like Froch, he's a very good fighter who has fought the best available competition, great attitude to the sport unlike so many of the recent British elite boxers who had smoke n mirrors careers like Hatton, Calzaghe, Haye, Maccarinelli etc. Cherrypickers. There has never been any nonsense with Froch and he deserves respect.
respected boxing figures like joe gallagher and glen mcrory. mccrory was saying hes one britains greatest fighters
He's a Great British fighter IMO, He's not a ATG in global boxing terms but if we broke things down to the modern era say the past decade you'd look and say he's one of the best of this decade based on competition and wins at world class level. That's due to his peers shamelessly wanting to have ''keep busy'' bouts against lesser knowns on a regular basis. But he's been consistent, performed excellently on each occassion even in defeat. Guy with limited tools making best of what he's got.. Great?. That's a word that should be kept for the real greats like Robinson, Leonard, Hagler and co. But Carl is one of our Greats (British) in the modern era if we want to use that tag.
