I don’t think it’s relevant what Tim did in the first two rounds, but the cut changed the fight as he couldn’t see properly anymore, the corner couldn’t do anything to stop it bleeding into his eyes, he was clearly struggling with his vision wiping away the blood with little affect. I don’t think Fundora was under or overrated but I think most fighters who are rated top tier in their division would knockout a blind fighter, I know he had a broken nose but it Tim was blind, I was surprised that Tim’s team didn’t pull him out and that makes me wonder if he was hoping that Fundora would tire. Iam not convinced by Fundora but I think it looks like he’s getting stitched up by being suspended for 6 months this is long for a broken nose. Could affect his ability to face Crawford who activated his mandatory position. Are they looking to give Crawford an interim title shot? Looks dodgy to me
There was absolutely nothing flowery about anything that I wrote, it was all straight to the point and matter of fact. Avoiding flowery flourishes was intentional, because I didn't want triggered crybaby fanboys like you and your like buddy @DynamicMoves to have a leg to stand on as far as any counter argument you may present. But of course neither of you even attempted to offer one up, because you simply cannot. The best you can come up with is irrelevent pisspoor misdirection. But... but... but... Tim's punches caused Fundora's nose to bleed!!! Whereas it was an elbow that caused Tim's forehead to bleed!!! Yeah that's great, ****ing AND? At the end of the day, both the doctors and Tim's corner didn't see fit to call the match due to the accidental elbow, and the fight wasn't called by the doctors or the referee due to Fundora's injury. Rendering both injuries completely insignificant in regards to the outcome of the match. The only thing left that mattered was, who won more rounds, and none of you are arguing that it was Timbo, because you cannot. Of course Tim's injury hampered his performance, but Fundora's injury hampered his, so they were on equal footing. Ultimately, Tim could see to land punches, he could see to evade punches. But he could not adjust to Fundora's slight adjustments, and lost the match because of it. So stop with the bellyaching and excuse making. If Tim was as good as you all thought he was, why didn't he make the adjustments needed, why didn't he go full blown warrior and just swing for the fences, gunning for a KO? Most fighters when they incur an injury that might cause the match to be stopped, either accidental or from a punch, they fight back like their lives depend on it, to rack up as many rounds as they can before it goes to the cards. If not that, attempt to take it out of the doctors, refs and judges hands. Yet because he had some blood in his eye, Tim packed it in and fought TIMidly.
Calling Tszyu timid is just nonsense he fought like a warrior like most Aussies throughout history in boxing.
He's tough and gave a gutsy gritty performance, sticking it out for the duration while wearing a crimson mask. However, in terms of taking the actual risks needed to win the fight definitively, he was averse to them, so yes... he did fight timidly.
The first to beat Tszyu was never going to receive full credit from the extreme side of his fanbase on this forum. No matter who they are, or how they won.
He’s gotten all the credit he deserves for beating a guy who was visually impaired. Before the cut Tszyu was nailing him.
He's received a whole lot more credit than that. He's currently the number 1 LMW in the whole world. That means a lot more than some people pretending this is the first time in history a boxer got cut.
It was a debilitating cut mot seem most cuts. He otherwise would not have won as Tszyu has busted his nose and was landing.
Then why couldn't Tim land those same rights that busted Fundora's nose for the rest of the fight? It wasn't like he stopped throwing them. He kept throwing the same shots over and over that brought him success in the first two rounds. But just by stepping back out of range and a little head movement, Fundora inexplicably presented him with a riddle too complicated to solve. I mean.... is it that hard to punch where the target will be, instead of punching air repeatedly? GGG, Kovalev, Loma, Usyk and Inoue do it all of the time.
