Wilder is a huge danger to any fighter and a high risk fight to take. Once that thunderous right lands, only one man can rise from the canvas and he somehow did.
That is Wilder in a nutshell. He can look stupid against mediocre opponents, Washington for example, for round after round but the second he connects it's either lights out or lights out very soon. A lot of the dismissing of Wilder is because he's a first class idiot, he's become a parody of himself, its like he's become a Family Guy character. Wilder is still clearly a threat but his attitude to defeat and inability to accept that it happened fair and square has made him an easy target. PS - Glad you're back, your input has been sorely missed
Thank you mate. Looking forward to the 2 big heavyweight fights in the summer where I expect both Champions to come through but would not be too surprised if Wilder landed one on Fury and Usyk gives Tony Dosh PPV a boxing lesson. Fury will need to be in the same shape he was for Wilder 2 and Tony Dosh PPV could be giving a boxing lesson if he fails to land a big one on Usyk in the early rounds. Any complacency for either could mean the big fight is for the Bellew v Haye belt.
Yeah, it's nice to see the return of @Jurgen The quality control on puddings has definitely dropped since you went away.
Fury is a very entertaining personality. He has people who love him and people who hate him but people will always be interested in him...so he does draw a lot of hype. Like @Jurgen has alluded to, if he gets hit with a great shot to the chin he will hit the deck like any other heavyweight but he undoubtedly has heart and a will to get back up and not look for a way out. He dragged himself up in that first Wilder fight and against Wallin he didn't go into his shell either after that cut. People give him grief for that performance but that took a lot of character. He's very skilled and has got great ring IQ. There is clearly a transition with his style due to him not being able to move like he used to hence piling on the weight and fighting on the front foot. He is beatable and it wouldn't shock me at all if Wilder landed a sweet one on him but by the end of his career I think both him and Joshua will go down as the best of their generation.
Just to second what ejc83 said. I actually didn't know you've been away as I've been on ..er..."holiday" for most of the last 3 months myself.
I have been sent around the forum prisons and nearly ended up on Death Row without killing someone. Good to see you back as well mate.
Welcome back Jurgen. In answer to the thread, no Fury is not a hypejob. Whilst outside of Klitschko and Wilder, his resume isn’t brilliant, them two wins alone (and the draw) are well above anything that AJ has ever done. A hypejob is someone who is raved about but has little achievements and no real substance, which is clearly not the case with Fury.
The notoriously stingy Bob Arum works with the world's biggest sports channel to offer 80m contract to a man nobody's interested in? I'd call that conquered, unless you can name a non American boxer other than canelo with anything resembling the profile Fury has in the US?
To be fair though he did move to sugar Hill to address the power issue & on the evidence of the 1 fight they've had together it's working...unless we're to believe the loaded glove wackos
Curious you don't mention the robbery he was on the receiving end of? Meanwhile Anthony's spouting racism about not spending money in "their" shops...whilst filling his pockets with "their" money, gets called on it & says they were the words of someone else... seeing as he doesn't talk s*** or contradict himself how would you describe it?
No way Fury is a hypejob.. really do wish he'd care more about his conditioning though. Seems to smash a big dessert every day looking at his Instagram.. and waistline. There's got to be a limit to how much his fighting smarts can compensate for this. I'd hate for an inferior fighter (e.g. Wilder and likely Joshua) to get the better of him purely because he took too many liberties in the build-up. He's only human and no doubt incredibly confident (for good reason). I know he comes as a package, and it's a bit like when they say geniuses need to be a bit crazy, but it's got to all catch up with him at some point. Hopefully not just yet.
