I don't think anyone is arguing that Fury v Klitschko was a great fight but in terms of significance, I can't think of a more significant fight. I posed this question because I sincerely hadn't formed an opinion but the more I think about it, the more I think Fury should win it.

It definitely should be mentioned. Is "fighter of the year" based on achievement or performance? A little of both I guess... I usually look at performance.

Maybe, but it wasn't very impressive how Fury beat Wlad. That may play against him. Either way he beat Wlad and i don't think he cares about FOTY to be honest. I think Fury/Wlad was more dreadful than Floyd/pac

Okay now if judge "fighter of the year" by which fighter pulled off the biggest upset... then definitely yes Fury get my vote.

But i look at performance and Fury's performance was pretty lame, but that was just enough to beat Klit round by round.

Its how significant the win is that counts.

You could give it to Joshua for obliterating Cornish if you only base it on performance.

With the undeserved hype and attention of the judges and media , Canelo could be there and win it.

Fury has the best and most significant win so yes, he's the FOTY. Anybody who says otherwise should not have their opinions taken seriously.
