If he beats Usyk after losing twice he has to be among the greatest heavyweights of all time

No. I mean, he has no chance of winning anyway, but if Usyk twisted an ankle or something, it still wouldn't quite be enough for top ten. Look at how weak his own personal top ten is right now...

    Klitschko
    Wilder II
    Wilder III
    Chisora I
    Whyte
    Chisora III
    Chisora II
    Cunningham
    Wallin
    Kingpin Johnson

Why did he **** away so much time?

    agreed.

His only notable wins are over Wlad, 2 over Wilder, 2 over Chisora.

To be fair, Haye pulled out vs Fury. But that would have been a decent scalp.

Beating an aging Povetkin would also have been a decent scalp.

Kabayel would have been a good scalp. So would have been Joyce (pre Zhang) or Zhang himself.

Fury has never had the desire to consistently face top 10 contenders. So him being an all time top 10 heavyweight is out of the question.

Fury is like Tokyo Douglas. Really highly rated for that one time he bothered to train.

It's going to be a difficult dilemma to face if he did win. I would say a Usyk at 39 is not a great win, personally. It's a good win because Usyk is so good and Fury isn't young either. But Usyk is a cruiser bulking up and trying to run around like a rabbit the wrong side of thirty.

As for Fury's record and wasting time etc. Let's be fair. He was 'stepped up' far quicker than basically anyone you can think of in boxing these days. The only wastage that was really his fault was the 3 years out being an obese weirdo. But people forget we had Covid restrictions for 2-3 years also which killed a lot of stuff. He lost a year with Haye pulling out twice. Usyk also delayed the fight quite a bit himself the first time. Even Wlad delayed the rematch for a long time. Chisora even pulled out one time. So it's not just Fury messing people around.

In general he's been no less active than other HW's. Since Usyk, I can understand he's not interested in fighting the B fighters. Why should he fight Parker, Zhang, Kebabyal, etc.? People want to see the fights, but he gets no credit for the wins and so it's a waste of time for him.

And over Whyte who was a Top 5 contender when he beat him.

    No he doesn't, Why???

he is a mediocre fighter, who has been protected & selective along the way.

Money men, in a wounded sport, especially the S-HW Subpar division, the money men saw a Giant, the biggest yet, a Gypsy Traveller, a bit a character and a money making opportunity....

That's it, that is all Fury is.

once again, Achievement Based assessments, show & prove they can add up too complete 'F' all.

Sorry, nice man though, but Boxing legacy, far, far less than most!
