... when Wlad - who he has already fought and beat - has beaten Povetkin, Haye, Pulev etc. Odd that seems to be a belief many hold from looking at social media!
Fury isn't "afraid" of anyone, but i think he knows how limited he is. He fought a 39 (THIRTY NINE) yr old with 60+ odd fights. Is wlad supposed to be the ageless wonder, was it not clear how badly he slipped while watching him lumber towards jennings ? Of course, wlad cant age. He was unbeaten for a decade, he has to be prime. Wlad was by far the easiest route to a title, when it happened. Also a very safe fight for fury, expected to lose to a forty ****ing year old 6'7" 245 lb hw. Im sure wlad looked real dangerous, how many top teir 40 yr old centers out there ? That's right, non and for great reasons
But that's 100% hindsight talking. We are all correct with hindsight. At the time the opening bell rang Fury was a huge underdog and almost everyone on these boards said he was getting 'splattered in 3' ...
Don't think he's afraid, as he's had plenty to say re Joshua's lack of boxing skills. He's not stupid tho, and is def aware that Joshua is a big threat who could do him over if he were to connect w that big right.
A Struggle? Whyte was out on his feet twice in the opening round. He landed one perfect shot on Joshua's chin and Joshua reacted perfectly and clinched without hesitation. Whyte was so hurt in the first round he went bambi legged just throwing punches at Joshua on the ropes. After that Joshua had his was with the for the entire rest of the fight.
