I don`t think his defences have been that good, he looked good in the Whyte fight though. He gassed Wilder by headlocking and putting all his weight on him, he also hit and held stopping Wilder from countering.
Were you high when you wrote this? Wilder fought bums until he eventually fought Fury and lost to him three times in a row.
Douglas did not reign as champ as long. A real comparison would be with a champ that held the title for a period of time, like Fury has. From that perspective, Fury is pretty bad. Also, Douglas's win over Tyson is much better than any win Fury has.
Fury has made a mockery of the HW title. People knock Wlad a lot but he never ducked anyone. Fury is ducking a guy that has 3 of the HW belts. It is a bad look and is bad for boxing. Usyk has bent over backwards to make the fight, but Fury is just a chicken.
If I try to define Tyson Fury just from the sporting side, I'll try to list some champions that I think most will agree are worse champions than Tyson Fury (I'm aware that not everyone will agree, so I'll lower the standards for that). Champions worse than Tyson Fury: Joseph Parker Siarhei Liakhovich Shannon Briggs Sultan Ibragimov Bermane Stiverne Samuel Peter Oleg Maskaev Trevor Berbick Ruslan Chagaev Nikolai Valuev John Ruiz Bruce Seldon Michael Moorer Charles Martin Chris Byrd Tony Tucker... Tyson Fury is good champion.
I would give that to Charles Martin, then again Charles Martin has the stones to fight Joshua. Fury ducked Whyte (before Povetkin, Diamond Belt nonsense), Price, Joshua and Usyk.
Buster Douglas was brilliant that night. There have and will be worse. He had talent and for at least one night realised it. Against an all time great in the biggest monumental boxing and sport’s overall upset of all time.
