I'm sorry, was Mike a reigning unified champion with the lineal championship?

Or was Wlad actually 58 years old coming out of retirement for a paycheck?

Neither? Figured out how silly you sound yet?

I doubt he could have fought Wlad much earlier tbh, he had to chase that fight a bit.

Agree he could have faced Usyk and AJ earlier though. But I get that politics can get in the way.

Holmes definitely achieved more than Fury, Ezzard Charles is debatable, but I would put Fury above Buster Douglas.

Love Fury, but I'd feel weird putting him in a top 50 ranking, let alone a top 10. Dying to see some of the lists of the people who voted yes.

Old Klitschko, old Usyk, no-skills Wilder do not a top 10 HW fighter make. Fury is hilariously inconsistent in his form and has contrived to nearly lose or get gifts against fighters that at his best he should beat in his sleep. That said if you wanted to say the best version of Fury is a H2H ATG I could get behind that.

A decisive Fury win over Usyk in the rematch will place him the best heavyweight of his era but top 10 all time, no.

Might be an unpopular opinion here, and I'm in no way a Fury hater, but even if Fury beats Usyk, I would still rank Usyk higher in an ATG heavyweight ranking. What Usyk has done is remarkable.

How is Paul doing an 8 round scripted Netflix exhibition with a 20 year retired & severely handicapped Mike Tyson equivalent to beating the unified champion WK in Germany? What an absolutely ridiculous comparison.. give your head a wobble treacle.. Fury beat Klitschko, which was a legit scalp. Beating Usyk too pushes him over into the ATG lineup. How can it not? WK & Usyk are both ATGs. I'm not a Fury fanboy, im just a realist. What more could Fury do? There hasn't been any better heavy weights than those two since Lewis.. so beating a run of Parkers, Bakoles etc wont really do much for him? How would those do anything for his case? WK was the best HW of the last decade, Usyk is the best HW of this decade, you beat those two you're an ATG. I dont think its even debatable. Dubois fight would be nice but I just don't think it will happen.. Furys on his way out the door.. & dubois already lost to Usyk anyway.

It was a sanctioned bout and it wasn't scripted. Fixing fights is a federal crime, lol.

That's like saying why isn't Michael Spinks rated above Larry Holmes for beating him twice. It's quite simple because Fury beat an old Wladimir at the end of his career plus Fury's has only beaten 3 ranked fighters overall he hasn't got the depth for the top 10.

Fighters like Holmes, Lewis, Wladimir, have x3 as many wins against ranked fighters and many more wins in championship fights.

I know you're a Fury fan which is fine but I think the logic is quite simple why Fury wouldn't be in the top 10.

A WHOLE bunch of HW boxers have done what Fury did. All Fury did was win the title. And has a **** poor resume at that.

I think you've taken this out of context a little. I was referring to the boxers like Buster Douglas that the previous poster eluded to being the equivalent of Fury.

It's funny that nobody thought he was old until AFTER Fury beat him.

I'd also point out there are plenty of ATGs with padded records or old ATGs on their record. It's boxing, it happens.
