This whole "x would be y in this era" doesn't mean much tbh. There's every chance Wilder starches most of them with a lucky right hand.

Doesn't really answer my question in any case.

It does Douglas beat 4 fighters who were champions Page, Tyson, Berbick, McCall, and holds a win over an ATG considered in his prime.

Fury has beaten two fighters who were champions Wilder, Wladimir, and one of them was at the end of their career.

Comparing their best wins there isn't that much to choose between them you asked for a comparison between Douglas and Fury I gave you one.

As for Wilder he has a losing record against ranked fighters so I think it's highly doubtful he one shots a majority of the best 80s Heavyweights.

Wilder would have to beat the likes of....

    Witherspoon
    Bruno
    Tyson
    Holmes
    Tucker
    Thomas
    Cooney
    Page
    Tubbs
    Williams
    Berbick
    Douglas

There was alot of talented Heavyweights in that era and against that kind of opposition above Wilder would go about 50/50 in regards to win/loss ratio.

No. Regardless of who is at top, he won't be a top ten as long as three of his own top ten wins are against Derrick Chisora.

Were they champs when Buster beat em? Or mostly "at some point"? Because there is a difference.

Wilders record aside, he certainly had the power and speed to stop them. Its all speculation of course, as you well know it's impossible to determine who would be successful in what era.

But hey, if you wanna argue Buster > Fury then be my guest. I'll be happy to disagree and move on.

Well if he beats Usyk Chisora wouldn't be in his top three, so there's that.

I got it. My original idea was that if three of his top ten are Chisora, I don't think there is a way to call him a top-ten heavy. There are a lot of guys who have good depth.

    People could see the decline

He scraped past shot Wlad, wouldn't rematch him, then fought no-one of significance until losing to Usyk. Bum squad's capability was confirmed against Parker and Zhang.

Wlad isn't even the best boxer in his family. So you've got Vit Klit, his brother, Usyk, and at least 7 better HWs.

If Fury rematched and beat Wlad more decisively, fought more significant fights than Deontay trilogy, didn't take that long break, and beat Usyk in the first fight, he would still be borderline for top 10 imo.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer but looking at what there is so far

Fury has won all of the HW titles but not held all at the same time

Has made 3 successful title defences of one title

Hasn't won any unification bouts as in defending and contesting

Has beaten 3 different fighters rated in the top 10 at time of fighting them - Wladimir, Wilder and Whyte

In facing top 10 rated opposition in bouts is 3-1-1

Has beaten 2 reigning champions and done so on the road

It doesn't show anything other than that your point is debatable.

You're making odd comparisons. I'm just trying to get you to clarify your point before answering it.

    Likewise yours

Which was my point regarding your claim

I mean actually you said nobody was saying he was old etc before the Fury fight

That's not debatable, many people were including boxing media

    It's documented out there
