Well we all know how much sh*t Fury can talk.. So hell say one thing then do another.. Its all the same.. bunch of others fighters do it too and Cruiser to Heavy is not a big difference... I'm a fan but I'm not sold on him until I see him perform.. Fury looked to be in horrible horrible condition both physically and mentally and to me hes not all there yet.. Well see.. I really hope he proves me wrong but I think Tyson is done. I get what youre saying though. You have a point
No such thing as a lineal title. It’s not a belt or anything tangible. It’s purely hypothetical. Fury shouldn’t be seen as the lineal champion anyway, due to ducking a contracted rematch, failing a drugs test and not actually defending any belts. It’s purely a marketing scam that Frank Warren will use to sell tickets.
Is Fury's " Strange Brew " belt also on the line? Its an obscure 1980's movie reference, but I think it fits.
If this is who they've brought in for his comeback that tells me something about what his team are seeing in the gym. If you go out of the sport for three years gain about 50% of your initial weight and then lose it again you may not be the same boxer you were before.
No and that's why it's a farcical to call Fury the lineal champion. You lose the right to be called lineal champion if you are not active. Fury is not the man of the division.
In your opinions is it that bad a fight after the time off? Seferi 23-1 with 21 KOs and only lost to Charr on points who in his next fight won the WBA title Is it really that much different than when Wilder and Joshua fought Molina? or Wilders defences against Szpilka or the Stiverne rematch or when Wilder fought Arreola? When Wilder fought Molina. Molina was 23-2 I think with 17 KOs Discuss
Technically, yes. But only a fool would give any real weight to the title. Fury spent nearly three years eating, drinking and snorting himself half to death, all the while refusing to defend his titles but demanding he still be deemed "The Champ". Prop his antics up alongside Adonis's dreadful reign and Canelo holding the 160 title hostage at 155 for two and a half years and it should be pretty easy to disregard the past importance of lineage. If Joshua or Wilder become undisputed I would definitely hold that "majority portion" of the title above the scraps Fury clings onto.
It's Fury's first defence of the lineal championship. Forget Joshua v Wilder. That's for the no.1 contender spot. The real heavyweight championship of the world goes on the line in this one. The true order of heavyweight championships: Top tier - Lineal championship Second tier - WBC & IBF Third tier - WBA & WBO Fourth tier - WBA (regular) & IBO Fifth tier - WBC Silver & IBF Interim People who don't understand the lineal heavyweight championship don't understand the history and tradition of professional boxing.
Seferi is ranked #64 by Box Rec. He's old and small. I think its a very safe comeback opponent, and Fury could have done a bit better. Let's see who he faces next and how soon. Fury is a big question mark in history. He's still in his physical prime, but his mental prime might belong gone.
If Lennox Lewis gave up the lineal championship when he announce his retirement then surely SO DID FURY
If Seferi wins vs. Fury, then he is obliged to fight Manuel Charr immediately for the unified Lineal and WBA championship of the world. FFS, Charr's joke of a belt has more credibility than Fury's lineal claim.
As ridiculous as Charles Martin being the IBF champ? Or Bermane Stiverne being WBC champ? Go back through the history of lineal heavyweight champions and compare it with the history of alphabet heavyweight champions. Then you might understand why the lineal heavyweight championship is top tier.
I want to see the Lineal Title crackheads defend their ridiculous argument if Seferi (or whatever tomato can Fury boxes next) wins some fluke decision. Watch them abandon their crackpot theory in a heartbeat.
