Is Fury's split excuse valid as a reason or is he ducking Usyk?

Is Fury wanting a higher split a fair reason for this fight not being made so far or is he ducking?

For me personally its a bs excuse and clear ducking from the guy that said money doesnt interest him.
But lets see what the general consensus is.

Classic ducking, clear as day. Never in the history of the sport there has been another champion who kept saying how he didn't care about money - and yet was always so eager to get the most money out of everything.

In any case, why would Fury deserve more? Usyk has sold three one million plus PPV fights in a row - Fury never even got close to one million PPV sales. Heck, even his Klitschko fight sold way less than any Usyk fights since then. Usyk sold more PPVs fighting Bellew than Fury by fighting Klitschko.

Also, in 2019, Fury demanded 50/50 against Joshua - without holding any belts, without having beat anyone of note for years, without having to fight abroad and despite Joshua being the immensely bigger draw. How can he or any Fury fans justify then that Usyk:
    1. as the reigning unified heavyweight champion
    2. coming off of two huge wins against the former unified champion
    3. having sold one million plus PPVs for years
    4. being forced to fight in his opponent's backyard
should not get 50 per cent at the very least? If anything, Usyk is very generous for only wanting 50 per cent. Imagine what Fury would want if he was in Usyk's shoes. 80/20 in his favour, maybe even more. But Usyk is the unreasonable and the greedy one. It's actually scary how the minds of Fury fans work.

I don't think it's a duck at this stage. I mean if they go to Wembley, Fury is going to be generating more than 60% of the revenue I suspect. So asking for 60% is OK but it should also be a negotiation. Fury may just want Usyk to take the knee.

I do think that on this forum, the ducking narrative is a little one-sided. Why not take the 40% if you are Usyk? It would likely be the number two payday of his career.

Overall, I think the forum has gone too soon on this. It's not a duck until it doesn't happen. I would say January 1 2024 it's fair to say that i's gone wildly wrong but until then you don't even know if it is happening or not. It the reasons for the failure of the Saudi negotiations is genuine, there's no reason why they couldn't make it in September out there.

If he’s not crying about Joshua, he’s crying about Usyk.

    Get well soon, bud. :ambulance:

:risas3: As a reminder, this is the same person that said Gervonta Davis punches harder than heavyweights.

Accepted 40% against Chisora, 20% in his first fight with AJ, 50% in the second where AJ didn't have any belt. Then said will fight for no money, now stuck to not less than 50%. People must be fair, regardless of their preferred fighter - in this case both play cheap games. Should also add "I don't want to fight in December", then "I don't fight around Easter" which he actually did three times in his career.

PPVs has as much meaning as they don't mean anything, if you're not touching the money from. Usyk with no Joshua goes nowhere near close to million. Many top boxers can't unlike some punks like Jake Paul - Paul vs. Fury generated 750K of them.

Something should be in it for Fury as well. 35-35 winner(Fury) gets the extra 30%.

That's the best you could do, one single sentence from an IG post (which could have been written by a SM manager for all we know), as opposed to Fury constantly going on the record talking about how he couldn't give a **** about money, how all millionaires he knows are sad people, how he drives around in a Volkswagen... And all this is supposed to be the same with Usyk because of a half sentence of a single IG post? Are you really that desperate to defend Fury?

In any case, as Krassyuk also confirmed, it's not about the amount itself. I seriously can't think of you guys not just trolling. Usyk is a man of principle - it's evident from his lifestyle, from the way he strictly observes his religious celebrations, the way he conducts himself in and out of the ring. Usyk accepted Fury not wanting to fight in Saudi. Usyk accepted Fury wanting to fight at home. It doesn't matter how much the fight generates. What matters is the principle: "I'm the other half of this undisputed bout. You won't push me around. Whether we generate 100 million or 100 thousand in sales, it doesn't matter. What matters is: I want 50 per cent of whatever we earn because make no mistake - you need me for this undisputed bout, just as much as I need you. Neither of us is more important in this bout than the other guy. 50/50 is the only fair way".

Anyone who questions this reasoning from Team Usyk has severe moral problems, really.

This is cherry picking at its finest. Usyk sold one million $25 PPVs while Fury sold 850k $75 PPVs. Hilarious you try to pass that off as a strong point for Usyk...

You're boring, man. The least I can do is way better than what you do, living only to praise Usyk and bash Fury - it's sad and most of all - you never dare to question Usyk just a bit, like he's some kind of saint. But whatever I posted is a fact and you've **it to explain it, let's assume Fury is ducking, he's hypocrite, whatever - everything, it still stays: the guy who accepted taking lower than Chisora, beggar salary against Joshua in the first fight, the guy who doesn't fight around Easter, except for three times, even let's put aside his "I'll fight for free", which might be "one single sentence from an IG post", but it's still his profile - now this very same guy is stuck to 50:50% while talking a legacy is not about the money. And I repeat: this is while we assume Fury is garbage. You're welcome to ridicule yourself once again now.

Don't talk about trolling, as 90% of your posts are Usyk worshipping and anti-Fury.

I think it's fair enough that the purse is split down the middle. Usyk has 3 belts to Fury's one. Fury gets to fight at home. Usyk is merely asking for a fair share. Maybe Fury doesn't mind fighting Wilder 4 times ...

You can't address a single point I raised, just retorted to ad hominem remarks (again). You keep saying you are not a Fury stan but you sure as hell reason and post like one. Whatever floats your boat, mate.
