Is Fury's split excuse valid as a reason or is he ducking Usyk?

I agree that I don't think he fancies the fight or it would have been done by now.

I a, just not sold on the idea Fury is frightened or worried, he doesn't strike me as that sort.

People don't seem to understand Fury wants record money for this

Why is that so hard to comprehend?

His biggest single paycheck is around £30-40m which is the most he can make from a Wembley fight against anyone regardless...even if Usyk took a lesser split.

So for him to get that he needs the Saudi's to pay up and they haven't (yet) but they are warming to him now. So we've got another delay on our hands....

delay hurts both Usyk & Fury but neither are prime so who cares. Although if Fury fights Usyk end of this year the crackheads will come out of the woodwork and claim he aged Usyk by 6 months LOL.

I think the US would have paid up silly money also but Fury is barred from there now.

In an ideal world the split should be 60/40 the winner taking the lions share. We'd soon see who's afraid of losing his 0 then and who's not really about the legacy.

I don't mean that he's physically scared of Usyk.

He's not...of Usyk or anybody else. Few boxers are.

But he might well be scared of losing...what that would do to his legacy.

How much do you think Fury should get to fight Usyk?

Less than he got for Wilder?

£50m is the base figure. If nobody can cough up then clearly nobody can afford The Gypsy King...

Should be closer to £100m and a free massage.

Usyk has never even earned close to this sort of money he is not in a position to 'bargain'. He will not earn this sort of money anywhere else again and another opportunity like this will not surface during the remainder of his career. Fury can fight Joyce (Wembley sell out) or Ngannou (free agent). Are you starting to get this now?

I disagree, Usyk is a way bigger fight that would get more money.
I dont even cade about that. No boxing fan should, especially with them already having millions for a few generations.

This is about undisputed, and his 3 belts vs 1 level into it as well.

What your doing is like prefering Bivol to face Jake Paul rather than Berbetiev cause he would get more money. It doesnt justify ducking.

I don't see it as a duck. He is the draw. He wants to get paid as much as possible. Can't blame him for that. Of course, since I like Usyk and think he is the better fighter, he should get 50/50. But I understand Fury's position.

I don't prefer it as a fan but the fighters and their associates will. This is a business negotiation, deal or no deal. At present they cannot reach a point in which both parties agree.

I'm not overly concerned with the MONEY aspect of the fight.

I understand that the fighters would be, and that's reasonable...it's their livelihood.

But no matter how the numbers come out, the will both be making enormous sums of money, and I believe the BOXING aspect should persuade them to make the fight.

This is for unification at HW, all four belts, Ring title, lineal title...the winner becomes "the man " at HW which is always the marquee division in the sport. No one has held that position since Wlad, even arguably since Lewis.
That, along with a giant pay day, should get the fight made.

Arguing over the split is unseemly, especially for someone who says hey don't care about the money.

The purse should be in line with earlier, similar bouts.

And a 50-50 split is fair...considering what both men bring to the bout.

As I've mentioned in earlier posts, he Gypsy King is my favourite fighter at this point. I've been following his career since his fourth pro bout.

But if he doesn't fight a willing Usyk, and I judge it to be a duck, he will fall a bit in my estimation and I'm sure, in the estimation of some of his other fans.

Fact: The boxer who is the FAR larger draw who has proven he can sellout stadiums against anyone, deserves to be paid more than the boxer who has a fraction of the commercial value.

That is common sense and has been the case since the beginning of time, whether people like it or not.
