Alot. I get the theory of Olympians having more of a platform to become stars than guys that have to be built up from scratch, but that's a lot of dosh for someone who, gold medal asside, has little else to help him become a star and draw that money back. Personality few can warm too, not enjoyable style, etc

 

Would be quite the wake up call for Murray that in my opinion. Getting a world title fight off the back of a defeat in a real 50/50 fight instead of after one of the 30 wins in his 'longest winning streak in British boxing' seems to show the value of stepping up in competition.

Saying that, Rios at this time would be the worst possible fight for Murray in my mind.

Looks like it could well happen which shocks me but maybe Wazza thinks Murray has mental strength to prefer this to a easy tune up. Murray probs can't afford to go back to earning ranking because he ships so much punishment. It's best to cash in on him now like title of thread says. Frank doesn't wanna build fighters up for them to leave him like many have in past.

 

:think Mitchell has a slim chance against Rios but Murray has no chance at all. None. Would be a good fight while it lasted but Rios would get him out of there in a round or 2.

Bit would HBO/Showtime want Rios to fight an unknown (to them) Brit who lost his last fight to a guy that Katsidis destroyed? I'm sure they would demand a better opponent.

 

Yeah i suppose that could be Frank's thinking but it would be a surprise to me if he was ready to throw him to the wolves as early as his 3rd fight with him. Because in truth Rios is just a more polished version of what Murray would like to be and with better power. It would be fun to watch but in truth, there's nothing that I can see Murray doing better than Rios to get a win.

He'd be better of going after someone like Vasquez if he wants a title. Personally, I rate Vasquez and would fancy him to just be abit too skilfull for Murray but at least there is a clash of styles in that type of fight and you never know, Murray may well be able to impose his suffciently enough to get the win. But with Rios, Murray will get the tear up he wants but with someone who i'm afraid is better at it than him

 

I think Burns can beat Broner Mitchell can beat Katsisdis Rios destroys Murray though imo

The problem Allegedly has is that he's obsessed with ''world'' champions, and it creates the impression that being a Euro level fighter or a top 10 in a division is nothing.

In truth being a Katsidis is better than being a Cleverly or a Burns at this point, despite them seemingly having achieved more.

It's all about quick bucks and not building fighters. Khan himself is a classic example of a kid experiencing a defeat (and a very bad one it was) and responding in the right fashion.
