http://www.garyshawproductions.com/Fighters/index.shtml theres also Solis the cuban Heavyweight prospect..wow! now all he needs is a new trainer but to be honest i'd prefer top rank because of their great job of developing young stars to big stars
It's a joined promotion between Arena-Box Promotions and Shaw. Also he has a new trainer, I can't remember his name but he trains Glen Johnson.
Yeah, Shaw is Gamboa's US promoter, but I'm pretty sure the German promoter still runs the show for the most part. Gamboa has a replacement trainer already. I forget his name, but he trains Glen Johnson. Which makes sense, with their camp being based in South Florida, and South Florida being full of Cubans.
Gamboa is with Arena Box-Promotion, but in the US, Gary Shaw is his co-promoter , since so far Arena is staging his events in European countries and Turkey. On the other hand, Öner is the (co)manager of Gamboa as well, and in the US the same person cannot be the promoter and the manager, and of course Öner needs a US promoter to get dates and TV deals for his fighters (Solis, Gutierrez, Barthelemy as well) - that's why he's made a deal with Shaw... Basically, as far as I know, Öner is making most of the decisions on Gamboa's career and Yuri is fighting on Gary Shaw events since the deal was made. But Öner is getting very well-known in the US, he made a bid for Klitschko-Peter and ready to break in the US Market if you ask me... of course, as a promoter...
tnx for the info guys:yep gamboa is on the right path, oner is doing a good job. he's doing good with the decisions but i think he rush in on his other fighters like hernandez but at least this is the kind of boxing people want not some hype **** path with can opponents like valero
According to Oner, it was a one-time promotional venture with Shaw for the Jiminez fight. This might change, however.
