Yes he is, all of those guys, aside from Soto have a very minimal chance against the current Gamboa. Arthur and Guerrero especially.

I think Luevano is a very skilled fighter.

He already won the NABF title in a round, but I agree he shouldn't be thrown into a title fight straight away .

Get him a decent gatekeeper and then put him in with Guerrero or Luevano , after that he can aim for John or Linares .

Gamboa ain't ready. An experienced top fighter with a good straight right will give Gamboa all sorts of problems.

he should fight someone like jason litzau, a tough offensive minded contender before he fights for a belt. its not that i dont think hes ready but it would be disrespectful to every other pro boxer who has had to work their way up the ranks if gamboa was given a title shot w/o beating any good professionals

Valero is a shaky jawed, leaky defence, slow fighter. He'll get blown out in a blaze.

I think in 2010 of years Yuriorkis Gamboa will be among the top boxers in the world, but I don't think he's there now. I noticed that acording to boxrec he has a fight in October he also fought in May as well as last night. His people are keeping him busy which I think is good for his devlopment. I think it is time to put him in with a ligitament top 10 fighter but not a tittle holder just yet.

Don't forget feather fisted. Only has 19 first round KO's. Pathetic.

What is pathetic? He has a chance for a lucky KO, which is minimal given the styles here and his own very leaky defence. Valero is sloppy and slow, he's beyond hittable and Gamboa has the speed/timing and movement to get in serious damage early and finish him off.

Valero has awesome power, but since he's stepped up in opposition some, the KOs have come more in accumulation in longer fights, he's never sparked a competent opponent in under 3, why would it start here against a guy who's shown solid punch resistence.

Unless you think power is everything. If you want to refute that he's very sloppy, has a leaky D, has shown potential punch resistence problems and has failed to 'blow out' a DECENT opponent like he did the ham and eggers, then please do so.

Gamboa was down and hurt vs Jiminez. If Jiminez can put him down, Valero can too. Speaking about weak defense, what about Gamboa. He is hittable, and Valero can definitely hurt him. We dont know how good both are, but at the moment Valero is underrated and Gamboa is extremely overrated. He was floored, and for good reason, cause his nonexisting defense sucks.

Gamboa would destroy any titleholder at 126-130 if they were to fight him in 2 months.. not just win, but destroy.
