With the oponents he's taking on it could be sooner than a few years.

He has great talent and ability, but its to early to be comparing him to a legend in Roy Jones Jr. This is coming from a massive Gamboa fan.

He certainly has the ability to be great though.

I'll tell you my opinion. I have not seen this kind of talent since roy jones.

He also has the same flaws as RJJ. I think his foot work is his biggest attribute.. But everything he does is pretty amazing. Hand speed, power, REFLEX. Man he is a friggin humming bee.

Mosely and prior never possessed this talent. And I love them.

It's not as if he';s just exploded onto the scene, the dude is in his mid-20s with 15 years of fighting experience.

Mosley was talented. Lacked the reflexes that Jones had. Also the precision and boxing talent. Great athlete for sure, but some of the innate "boxing aura" escaped Mosley. He didn't see things the way Jones instinctively did. We will see if Gamboa has that soon enough. Tomorrow nights fight is no pushover.

No. Gamboa has been tagged more times in his first 8 fights than RJJ was in his first 25 fights.

Fair, but he is a pretty aggressive fighter, Jones was more reticent a lot of the time. Still, we'll see. Looking at him, this claim seems less than ridiculous to me, but, as we saw with Dawson, a guy moving up in levels can suddenly look much more ordinary. We'll see, we'll see.

    ****ing hope so though.

If Gamboa would just tighten up his defense his chances of longevity in this sport would be much more significant.
