Fought once a year since Lomachenko fight for the past 3 years. We can see now he didn't do all that bad at all now we've seen Vasyl since. Vasyl clowned on some top elite fighters, yet Russell was competitive. Yeah Vasyl clearly won, but he wasn't toying with Russell hands down, doing his footwork showboating.
Russell has a rare talent and I wish he would use it more often because pretty soon it will be gone. Maybe the dude just doesn't like to fight
He should fire his management. They didn't prepare him at all for Lomachenko. The point of fighting 24 (or whatever) opponents before going up against a fighter like Loma is that those opponents should get incrementally better as he progresses. Prepare him. He fought trash up to that point and therefore got destroyed.
I mean, a schooling like that could have messed with the man's confidence, effectively ruining his career.
There is talk of a rematch with Russell at 130 or 135......................Russell does not seem to be very interested though..............Lomachenko will beat him again, probably by knockout this time...........
Yes, but he has openly expressed all that pimp game that Haymon ran on him and won't fight for less than $800,000 even though he's a ****ing nobody. Unrealistic expectations from this midget. Thank you Al Haymon. You were supposed to get them paid but not baby them.
That's the stage set up by the PBC. Massively overpay fighters and let them get used to it, then they become inactive and earn the same or even less at the bottom line, while out of the public eye...
Very good fighter but he took too long to step up and he has been far too inactive after the Gonzalez fight, which was a great performance.
