Post Froch, the UK has NO big name fighter Brook is good, but doesnt sell out arenas in a hurry GGG comes over and sells out the O2 in 10 minutes :yep He's loved over here. I hope he remains ignored in the USA and decides to base himself in the UK If he obliterates Brook the UK crowd will be stunned, then go insane and embrace him as one of their own Stadium fights are a real possibility. Shame there's no Brit who arouses any interest whatsoever
He should obliterate Brook we have weight divisions for a reason. It wouldn't be as big a hiding as GGG would get against a Wilder or AJ, I think those boys would kill GGG
Seriously this thread alone shows how little you know about British boxing, you absolute bellend :rofl
I'll give you one name just to prove you are completely wrong with all this "NO big name" and "no Brit arouses interest", you really have no idea what you're talking about and then you can go away and read about what actually happens here. Anthony Joshua :hi: Edit: I would like to add, Joshua sold out the O2 in less than 90 seconds, I thought I'd mention it because you mentioned 11 minutes for a Brook Vs Golovkin and obviously thought that was impressive. Good night, oh and RIP your thread, it just died :verysad
Well i guess youre right there. Since Froch retired there's not a single British fighter that arouses my stantion I will add though how is it possible to sell out the O2 in 90 seconds? Did they have 20,000 phone operators?
yeah I know what you mean,it's funny how nobody ever looks at it that way,a middleweight fighting a cruiser or a heavyweight? GGG will feel a lot of love from the UK crowd for sure but as much as I enjoy Golovkin and his style of fighting this match up which I was originally excited about has diminished since I seen their size next to each other, all that tosh about Kell Brook walking about heavier than GGG,the pics tell a different story and GGG is miles bigger, one looks a genuine middleweight and the other a Welterweight, there's no other way of putting a spin on it is there? I reckon AJ is the UK favourite right now and will most likely stay that way until he loses a few times.
As a boxing fan rather than being a fan of the person and based of his last fight Anthony Crolla is my current favourite UK boxer, the guy has heart and some skill?
I dont know about that mate. Everyone i ask seems to know who GGG is and doesnt know who Brook or Joshua are. And any casual who's seen interviews with Golovkin cant help but love the guy And anyboxing fan who's seen him in action cant hep but love the guy Dont get me wrong. It's a UK fight, and the majority of the crowd will probably be rooting for Kell, but i'd be surprised if Gennady gets anything other than a massive reception Unlike in a certain demo, GGG is loved over here and very welcome. How awesome it would be if he was to get a massive reception, a huge income, and decide to set up camp in UK UK fans know whats up. They know Exactly what went down with Eubank jnr. They know Exactly how Saunders feels about fighting the man. They also know how desperate GGG is to face the best in his division and how they have ran faster than Bolt on steroids USA can keep their Floyds, their Wards and their Crawfords. We'd gladly take Golovkin over anyone
20,000 phone operators? Think about it. What are you posting on now? Why the hate for British fighters we have some good talent over here.
Froch and Hatton were exciting but also they were world champions when we had so few in the UK now we have 13 Champions so no one fighter stands out unless you like there style or come from the city your fav fighter comes from, Arguably you could make a case for Josh Warrington having Hatton like support and he has not even got a world title.
Do you think Brook vs Canelo would have sold out any slower? Do you think GGG vs Liam Smith would have sold out just as fast on Boxnation? It wasn't all about GGG. It was as much to do with Matchroom's farcical ticketing as anything else. There would have been enough actual boxing fans to snap them up in 10 minutes. The ones not being siphoned off to Stubhub of course. The only boxer casuals really care about in the UK is AJ. The only other fight in recent years that piqued their interest was Froch vs Groves. They haven't cared about Groves since, although it's a shame Froch retired when he could have capitalised on the interest.
no big name british fighter? smh casual... the uk has the biggest name in boxing right now. Anthony Joshua. pfft no big name....
Phone operators? What century are you living in? This isn't a competition on Live & Kicking... I'd imagine they had some pretty powerful servers and plenty of people online. Then there's the tickets that go straight to the reseller market but if we go into detail about that the thread miraculously disappears.
