To clarify using only his arms he generated all that force... No hips at all, all arms.

Look how rigid those hips are no legs or waist it's like it is a crime to shift his weight. Nothing but arms!

I will only explain my side. Journeyman and anyone else can explain what they think.

My definition: An arm puncher clubs with their arms. They rely on arm strength and heavy handedness. They do not often get all their weight into their shots. Oftentimes they fight flat footed and do not get the most snap or explode with their punches. Arm punchers tend to lack speed, follow through, and fluidity in their punches.

Here's an example of Foreman's power.

Do you think he transferred a lot of his weight and follow through into his punches?

We now need another poll thread about whose poll thread is better. Then the cycle will be complete.

    Jokes aside, here's my take.

Foreman was an arm puncher more than most other great heavyweights.

By arm puncher, I mean two things:

    * Sometimes he punched almost exclusively with his arms, without engaging his core or legs much. (It's impossible to completely be an arm puncher, since you still need your legs and core to hold you upright.)

    * Sometimes he engaged his legs and core, but did a poor or half-hearted job. For example, firing punches from a very narrow stance that prevented him from getting much hip/core leverage. (Or not putting his whole weight into it.)

I don't know whether that counts as an arm puncher under either of your definitions, but that's what I think he did.

    That's now how this works.

If you accuse someone of saying something you show proof. Kind of like how Grey said that he didn't use his hips. Seems like your issue is with him.

I gave my definition of an arm puncher.
