Tyson beating Spinks was probably the equivilant to Foreman thrashing Frazier from a size standpoint. Both opponents were masssively undersized and undergunned when they stepped into the ring. Foreman is pretty dam overated as an ATG heavy but he was still a hell of a fighter.

The Frazier win was better in my opinion. Considering Frazier's best weight was actually heavyweight, he was coming off his greatest win and there was only 3 or so pounds between them, half the difference in the Spinks vs Tyson fight.

I don't think George beats the 68-FOTC Frazier as easily as the Frazier he beat in 73. He'll even tell you that. You're right, Joe was still a force but the evidence of the fights he had against Stander and Daniels just prior would tell you that he was well off his best fighting weight and shape. I'd even bet on the Joe who fought Mathis and Ellis getting past the danger rounds against George and working his body towards a late stoppage or UD.

It was more Joe`s inactivity than anything. He beat the crap out of both Stander and Daniels. They were tuneup fights. He didnt look bad in either of those fights.

There was the combination of Foreman being somewhat of an untested contender and Joe being inactive for almost 2 years.

I would agree that a peak Joe Frazier gives George a better fight. I dont think he would make it past those danger rounds. You just cant walk to a George Foreman bobing and weaving into those thunderous uppercuts. He was just so strong.

I mean agree to disagree. I think Lewis is very overrated and Foreman is top 5 ATG but whatever. Anyway enjoy a complimentary Lennox Lewis cartoon. No hard feelings.
