There's a good chance that GGG KO'S all of them on this list. One or two may make it the distance. I'm not saying GGG is better than Hopkins, but there is a good chance GGG takes most or all of them out. It looks like a GGG feeding to me outside of maybe Trinidad and possibly Delahoya. Kind of like feeding a Crocodile.
Horrible comparison. Trinidad is one of the top 10 greatest fighters of the last 30 years, who slowly moved up at 154 and then proceeded to beat Joppy, the best man at Middleweight aside from Hopkins himself, resulting in him being rightfully ranked as the number 1 in the division. Kell Brook wasn't even in the pound for pound rankings and had fought exclusively at Welterweight when he was fed to Golovkin. I still stand by my claim that GGG has 9 consecutive defenses instead of 20, and 11 overall instead of 22. But fine, even if he barely surpasses Hopkins in that regard, Hopkins still has the better top wins and the deeper resume when it comes to ranked men. And who are these nobodies Hopkins lost to at Middleweight ? The bum known as Roy Jones jr ? Jermain Taylor who would have been a shining sparkle in GGG's resume when Hopkins was literally 40 years old, in 2 close fights where everyone had a different verdict ? Those are literally his only losses there. Do you really think one measly draw against Mercado when Hopkins was green is enough to put GGG above Hopkins when he is outclassed in every other metric ?
Almost nobody has fight #1 for Canelo. Its just the way it is. Black is black and white is white, its that simple.
Yep, and Canelo would still be great if he lost two out of three close fights with GGG as well. The robbery wasn't necessary for the young man. For the old man it was a bad robbery. It could have been worse like Kovalev vs Ward one, type of bad though. As the HBO producer said, what are going to do with a guy from Kazakhstan?
Of coarse, they love the, who's his best win game after their guy won on robbery. They just love that!
12-2-1 (10) vs Ring mag top 10, robberies included. If that means nothing to you, then it means nothing to you.
He absolutely did but to suggest Geale ducked GGG is absurd. Geale took the big money, rematch fight against Mundine in preference to defending the WBA tile for far less. Geale got his revenge against Mundine, in what was one of the biggest fights in Australian boxing history and then fought GGG only three fights later. That's hardly running from someone.
Golovkins back never touched the wropes. Thats not backing down. GGG turned Canelo into a bobble head doll with the power jab in the 2nd fight, and won down the stretch in the championship rounds.
There should be an option for Great but not ATG… He sadly lacked the dance partners to give his resume the extra shine I do think he is a H2H ATG at middleweight though
Disengagement doesn't mean back on ropes. Thats a weird thing to say. In that rematch only one man came forward and fought like he wanted it more. GGG spent too many rounds retreating behind the jab. You don't win fights of that magnitude by playing it safe. He had it in him to attempt to beat the daylights out of Canelo , he just didn't go for it. Fury risked going to sleep everytime he bulldozed forward in the Wilder rematch. You gotta take risks. He who dares wins
your opinion^ Brook was Ring top 10 rated, which I'm sure will impress you. As it turns out he was heavier than GGG at their weigh in. Among active boxers today, IBF, WBA, and IBO World Middleweight champion just made his twenty-first title defense leading all active fighters. Only five world champions have at least ten defenses. On April 9th, Golovkin unified titles knocking out now former WBA Super World Middleweight champion Ryota Murata of Japan in Saitama, Japan. Golovkin out landed Canelo in fight one by about 49 punches and the 2nd by 32 punches. He ran from nobody, just stood in the pocket and outboxed him. No KO, no win for GGG.
From what i remember and can verify is Brook was top 10 pfp for a short time in the Ring mag. Right about the time he was going to fight GGG.
