If Floyd is TBE , & Canelo is The King of Boxing, then GGG is the second coming!!!!!. Canelo used every trick to avoid GGG both legal & illegal. He had every advantage in every fight he had. The Vegas judging bias is blatant . Even the state commission tried to cover Floyd's butt in IV gate with that retroactive TUE but only really made him look more guilty. To support a fighter I first have to respect him. Sorry but I have absolutely no respect for Floyd or Canelo for those reasons.
Most people feel he won Canelo 1, but his best official win was Jacobs, who was the ring magazine's #2 ranked MW going into the fight. He has a fair few wins over top 10 ranked MWs and was consistently dominant over a decent number of good MWs, in mostly non-competitve fights, during his prime years, but no great ones. His win resume is some way short on quality, relative to the greatest MWs of all time.
Of course he is . . the Majority of the boxing world had him out pointing a Prime Canelo twice, and GGG was getting up there in age . .It is Canelo who is over rated and not the ATG .. So I rank GGG accordingly ..
Exactly.. There's no money in the sport if a man named JLC beats the most popular fighter on the planet Floyd Mayweather , ,and an old timer from Kazakhstani beats the second most popular fighter on the planet.. Like I said, it took rigged Vegas Venues and a judge getting suspended to pull Canelo thru , same as Floyd did .. That is why most had GGG winning .... But Money always has the final say ,, GGG superior to Canelo and he proved that
i'm unsure what is the definition of an all time great is. GGG took on everyone in his division. he was a dominant force during his prime. i can't remember one time i thought he might lose when he had a fight coming up. he's older now. he is slowing down. he may have one or two more fights left in him. but if he decided to retire today, he can look back and know he did well for himself and the sport.
Nope. His best wins are Canelo and Jacobs. He barely beat Jacobs and I thought Canelo won the second. Great fighter but not all time great. He had the opportunity to truly make a great legacy by fighting Ward but ducked him. It was easier for him to move up for a fight at 168. He would have done so comfortably but didn't fancy it. I don't think he could have beaten Ward.
GGG was a great fighter who dominated his division and had Canelo not made him wait so long, may have beaten Canelo comfortably too. He arguably beat Canelo anyway. But it depends a lot on your definition of what an all-time great is as to whether you classify GGG as one.
Respectfully, my eyes say otherwise. He was robbed in the 1st fight with Canelo. If it's a close fight like Hagler vs Leonard, or GGG vs Canelo 2, then I'll abide by the judge's decision in evaluating a fighter's legacy. But when it's a robbery like Chavez vs Whitaker or Pacquiao vs Bradley 1, I'm not going to validate the injustice any further.
