    Difficult question.

Was he as good as the unGodly hype? No. I recall folks suggesting he'd stop Hagler as if it was a foregone conclusion

Nonetheless he was certainly the best of his era, a future HOF, and a great ambassador for the sport.

Some weren't and some were, unless Canelo was purposely trying to make them look hard, but that wasn't acting , nobody acts that good, and what would be the point of that?

So, lets say he had the chance to fight these guys and won by KO, if thats not enough, whats next, a time machine to time travel?

"Golovkin is ducking Martinez by not having a time machine."

Well, when the masses speak, you should listen.

So, you’re okay with 8-4? So you’re essentially admitting GGG was robbed? You can be robbed in a 7-5 fight if it’s not mathematically possible to win more than 5 rounds on the losing end.

GGG was blatantly robbed in the first fight. Ruined his legacy. If he gets the proper W, he retires undefeated most likely.

The way he ran through some tough dudes spoke volumes to me

The blatant ducking by Sturm, Martinez and Cotto was next level ducking and I liked all 3 of those guys

How does 37 year old Hagler do against Derevyanchenko?

Peter Quillin ducked him as well. Actually said no to a title shot

GGG definitely deserved the nod in the first Canelo fight. I also agree that crooked judging in that fight tarnished his legacy.

I don't think he beats Hagler, however. Marvelous had an iron chin, the heart of a lion, and underrated boxing ability. Hagler could also hurt you, and he was a ferocious competitor.

I don't blame them for ducking. Them getting their head handed to them in front of the world is just one signature away. Who in their right mind would purposefully want to be added to GGG'S highlight reel KO collection? I would have loved to see Cotto, Lee, Quillin, Chavez, Martinez on that reel ,the more the merrier! A little more decorations on the tree. Then top that off with a couple of Canelo wins, which he did. If he got credit for his Canelo wins, i would have expected him to top that off with one last cherry, maybe a super middleweight title, then call it a day. But no, there were other plans at play.

Yep, he didn't just win close decisions, he destroyed them.
