I can name 10 fighters from the 70's and 80's I think were better and greater than him that don't get brought up as ATG's. So why does he? He was elite for his timeframe and probably will get into the HOF and it should be left at that.

Nah, defended it 20 times, (18) by KO. Geale defaulted his freshly unified title before the Rosado fight out of fear, just like Canelo did before Delahoya announced Canelo needed 16 months to juice before fighting GGG. oh wait, he didn't admit that. If you only count from Rosado forward, its 15 title defenses 13 by KO, technically maybe if you wait for the WBA administration to figure out who to give the vacated WBA super belt to after Geale wimped out you can come up with a smaller number of defenses. It seems you have done the mental gymnastics to discredit the dominant GGG. 20 tried, 20 failed, 18 by devastating KO.

If Davis has a belt that people are paying sactioning fees for, and he is defending the titles, he deserves credit for his defenses, all the more if he goes on to KO Haney. If Haney vacated his belt to not fight him, even more credit yet. If Golovkin was beltless and there was only one WBA champ you would have an argument. It would have been a case of everybody was avoiding the monster Golovkin and holding out, but the monster had a belt to defend until he got his hands on these dudes that were avoiding him.

You shouldnt be concerned, people speak their mind in a free country. If his opinion is censored, then we have a problem.

They like to discredit GGG'S power jab. That's the best thing they can come up with.

They were incredibly competitive, they just gave to the wrong guy. I read an article recently where, when GGG'S promoter approached HBO about GGG, The guy in charge said yeah, but what are we going to do with a guy from Kazakhstan? We know now, help launch Canelo, the cash cow!

And he wasn't ranked at Middleweight. This is an ATG Middleweight thread.

Canelo was just better than GGG. GGG was outclassed and out skilled. Canelo landed the more meaningful and more impactful shots. He worked GGG to the body, GGG neglected the body. Regardless, I think you would agree that the judges decisions in either match doesn't stop GGG from being an ATG or comparing himself against Hopkins. After all, you could make the same arguments about Hopkins vs Taylor x2.
