El Pollo gave up the title rather than fight Golovkin, Oscar has made Golovkin inactive because Golovkin likes to fight 3 or 4 times per year. El Pollo would only fight Golovkin if he owned the judges, referee, boxing commission, etc., that's how Oscar does business, he cheats! Oscar would rather have the fight in Texas with Lawrence Cole as the referee, but so many Mexican fans do not like El Pollo after the Golovkin fight, even Tecate sponsors Golovkin now...............

The phrase at MW could mean two different things, either the weight division that a fighter is fighting at now or the weight division that the fights on the resume occurred.

Why do we always end up back talking about resumes? This is Boxing not top trumps. Canelo probably has the number 1 resume in the sport, hell he has a better resume than Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder put together. Maybe he should fight them both at once.

Canelo is the lineal Middlweight champion but has only ever fought properly at the weight once and was gifted a draw. That says all you need about the legitimacy of the Lineal or ring titles.

You're right that he only ever fought properly at the weight once, but you're not right about him being gifted a draw. If anyone was gifted a draw it was Triple Gift after being outclassed in the early rounds and outboxed round after round. It took G about 4 or 5 rounds just to get into the fight. It's hard to argue that somebody got gifted a draw when they come out ready to fight while the other guy comes out all gunshy and timid like Golovkin did in the early rounds. It wasn't until the middle rounds that Golovkin really got going. Canelo looked every bit the Lineal Champ in those early rounds, then Golovkin came on and made it a fight, but when you give your opponent an early lead like Golovkin gave Canelo, you need to win rounds convincingly to make a draw be a gift for the other fighter. Golovkin didn't do that, he was getting hit too often, even in his best rounds. And towards the end, Canelo closed the show like a true champ leaving no doubt that Canelo was every bit the "proper" Full Middleweight and every bit the true Lineal Champ. It would have been a travesty for Canelo to lose the Lineal Title after that kind of performance. Just like it would have been a travesty (in Golovkin's eyes, in Golovkin's fans eyes) for Canelo to become unified Champ after that performance.

After that fight, we didn't know who won. Now each fanbase can say who they thought won. But when the bell at the end of the 12th round rung, you didn't know who won. So given that, it's perposterous to argue that the draw was some kind of a gift after such a close, competative, could-go-either-way fight. The only way you can make the argument that the decision illegitimized the Lineal or Ring Title was if Golovkin was winning round after round clearly or knocked Alvarez down or hurt Alvarez. That didn't happen, so it just comes off as biased for you to make that statement. And the reason that didn't happen is because Alvarez is too seasoned and too good to allow a fighter to win a round against him convincingly. That's what great fighters do and Alvarez is certainly a great fighter. And frankly Golovkin is just now learning how to do that. All his career, Golovkin didn't have to learn how to win rounds. He just knocked people out. What happened in the Jacobs and Canelo fights were brand new to Golovkin, he never had to worry about judges in his entire career. Now he does and this is a very new experience for Golovkin and his fans, so it's understandable how outraged Golovkin's fans are over the decision. They are not used to fighters taking Golovkin 12 rounds and especially not being hurt after 12 rounds.

The legitmacy of the Lineal or Ring titles doesn't really have anything to do with the judges. I mean obviously it does to an extent as they determine winners, but in the sense of you have such a great fight that's so back and forth, that could be seen or argued either way, the draw more than any other result in a fight that debatable legitimizes the Lineal or Ring Titles. Because before that we just didn't know how well Canelo could do vs Golovkin or at MW. The fact that it was Canelo's first "proper" MW fight and it was vs Golovkin and that it was so hotly debatable and entertaining legitimizes Canelo as the Lineal Champ. Now we have a real dispute that a rematch is warranted.

Canelo had only one fight at the real MW limit so how can he have the deepest resume there?
Oscars Judges saved him vs Golovkin

But the MW limit is 160 NOT 155 & didn't Canelo claim to be the WBC MW 160 pound champion ??? Canelo was an obvious fraud then wasn't he ??

A duck is a duck GG was begging for Mayweather at 154. But when Canelo offered 155 GG wanted none of that

Fighting Mayweather at 154 would have been GGGs biggest payday at that time.
Hell, even Ward said he'd come down. Everyone within a weight class or 2 wanted on the Mayweather train.

However, GGG was the mandatory Challenger to Canelo. Which means GGG could let it go to purse bid and not have any weight restrictions AND get more than the 90/10 split Oscar was quoted to have said.
