Given GGG recent performances against Canelo and Jacobs I've been reading that many posters think that GGG is in decline. I was curious to gauge a percentage of people who think that.

I personally am a GGG fan and don't believe he is in decline as of yet. I think he has just stepped up in competition. I think he still has a lot of offer at this stage of his career.

Everyone at age 35 is on the decline. Golovkin is no exception.

Not as much as many make him out to be. He may have slowed down a bit but he’s still pretty much the same GGG as he’s always been.

Maybe he should get on that Hopkins supplement program that he had later in his career! Then well see how these younger guys hold up in there with him :)

Ok, he's 35. Probably 3 years outside of his prime. But he just beat the number 1 and 2 middleweights in the world, who were both on their bicycles for most of their fights. Those were great wins.

Certainly on the decline he's been slipping since the Lemieux fight.

Who doesn't decline when they hit their mid-30's? The once invincible Roy Jones started getting KO'ed at 35.

Both Canelo and Jacobs stood their ground and went toe-to-toe with Golovkin. Neither of them moved so much to warrant the claim of being bicycle riders.
A bike rider looks like Lara vs Canelo or Dirrell vs Froch.
Plus , Canelo hasn't the footwork or stamina to get on a bike for 12 rounds. Watch the fights again.

We can't know for certain which, but we do know that just before he went up in competition, he was wrecking people. Then, as soon as he comp got tougher, he stopped looking unbeatable. IMO, it's the competition. Until we see him looks less than stellar even against weak comp, I think we have to assume it's people he's up against and not assume it's age.

I think he's peaked....Coupled with a step up in competition he's looked less like a machine but still very capable of being one of the top boxers in the sport. At 36 he's not going to get any better as this is a young mans sport but he could sustain his performance levels for another couple of years

Yes this,GGG has for some reason been made to live up to such lofty standards that I've never seen of anyone else to the point now where if anyone can survive twelve rounds against him whilst doing a bit of running they somehow should get the win as it's GGGs fault for not knocking em out, very odd.
That said he's getting older and is three years beyond his prime so of course he's on the decline and yet for me this just shows what a dominant force at middleweight this guy has been as even now in the latter half of his career he still fights for every min of every round, pushes a pace that Canelo couldn't live with and has the boxing IQ to come out on top.
Canelo fought well and you'd think with youth on his side he'd win but once GGG started hooking his shots he couldn't miss and if goes to the body more as he should of done I still see Golovkin winning declining or not.
