Since his fight with Gabe Rosado his popularity has been on a steady rise without facing one top 10 opponent. Now he has a better chance of facing Mayweather than Amir khan. Since 2012 Khan has been ducking anybody who could dent a pillow without him hugging them all round. Now he believes he is the most popular fighter in boxing, but I don't see it. Since debuting in the U.S. Golovkin has sold about close to 40,000 tickets in various arenas. Khan has been fighting here since 2010 and has not sold have as much at 13,000 tickets. Neither has had a PPV but wait...Golovkin is starring in his own PPV in October while Khan still begs to Floyds sack for a fight after he retires. Amir Khan and his delusional fans that don't even live in America are out of their minds when talking about how good this guy is. He has loss to far lesser men and basically had a draw with Chris Algieri and didn't even hurt the guy like Ruslan did. If he was smart he would pull the Naseem Hamed and fightin Detroit where half of America's Muslim and Middle Eastern population live and build himself a real fanbase here. But you can't do that riding Mayweather's **** like a magic carpet, pun intended.
In the US and probably internationally GGG is more popular. In Britain, nobody is as popular as a British fighter.
I doubt Brits love Amir Khan either. He is incredibly annoying, and his demeanor is an embarrassment to his country.
