He's very good but the way some people are over hyping shows this wave of new age internet boxing fans are abit silly. People saying he would beat ATGs and hes an ATG middle is re****ed. Murray, Rubio, Geale and Macklin. Solid contenders but really aren't that good. Let GGGs career play out and im sure he will get elite names in the ring with him. Then we can see his skills actually tested at the highest level.

If Abraham and Bika can win at least 3 rounds with Ward (Bika at least 4), why wouldn't Golovkin?

Interesting breakdown, with Andrade its more of a physical thing with a few more experience fight's I think his size and ability to box would cause a lot of problems for GGG admittedly this is the most out there pick.

Ward seems like a clear choice when active the guy is one of the best in the sport, has the experience and top flight skills. Ward IMO beats GGG but losses to Kovalev.

Canelo is another semi clear pick for all the hate he gets Canelo is really a bit more skilled than GGG. Faster, better more fluid combination puncher, better counter puncher, also has the edge in defense and big fight experience. Canelo doesn't get enough credit for slipping & picking off shot's, his only down fall is potentially his mobility.

I agree with some of your point's even though his comp isn't great or really even good. GGG is a quite killer, his punch placement is one of his best attributes along with his footwork, I've seen him alter the trajectory of shots midway through to land powerful blows.

Like I said I'm a bit of a fan of GGG for me it's like this I prefer to give credit for what guy's actually do not what they look like they can do.

Plenty of hypejobs look like killers fighting d league fighter's

Macklin gave a quite frank and honest appraisal of fighting him on Ringside. You should watch it.
Given his style and power and knowing that he has dynamite in fists, he eats a couple. That might not be something to do later in his career but in his prime he can take it.
The Daniel Geale KO is a great example of that. He ate a beauty from DG and cleaned him out 2 seconds later.
If you've got that much power, and know your opponents is fearful of the power he's obviously going to come forward more thus risking some shots.
The only time you'll see how truly good his defence is is when he comes up against someone that offers a genuine threat. He would then likely show his full defensive range.
I think he's incredible all round and won't see the best of him(that's scary) until he's matched against someone like a Ward.

He's somewhere between very good and all-time great. Probably in the middle around non-memorable hall-of-famer, kind of like Kostya Tszu.

    Very good is his floor
    All-time great is his ceiling.

Many of those who have followed the sport in the 80s are saying GGG is a real deal and would give problems to any champ in the history of 160. I tend to agree.

Hopkins was very good but hardly great when he boxed at 160. He accomplished his best wins afterwards at 175. And IMO Mayweather is too small for GGG, GGG would KO him easily. Both of them are americans... I know my opinion might sound insult to some of the patriots in denial but it is what it is.

Hes looked really good against the opposition hes fought, which has been decent to good fighters.

He has yet to fight a top slick boxer. I say put him in against Lara.

I think GGG isnt over hyped or under hyped or whatever hyped ,he is what he is. A boxer with great ring craft that has the ability to put away opponents with ease. Theres a reason why past and present boxers in and around his division rate him highly. He;s darn good!. Maybe he hasnt got the names that most people would like but the guys potential as a boxer is there to be tested and seen and i think to pass judgement on him now is a little premature. But hey thats my opinion..i just hope in 2 years time, this thread dont get revisited!!

Basically whenever you see a detractor include the line "some people say GGG is the greatest MW of all time" , thats a red flag that Cisco or some other garbage poster has activated an old alt and making troll bait.

Its kind of ironic because to argue so vociferously against a straw man, its almost like they themselves believe that and it discomfits them to such a degree they need to rail against it.

I think he has a Hagler jaw and similar punching power so, yes, he's right up there with the all time greats. A Hearns fight would have really been a treat
because he has staying power even after eating big shots
