He's for real, its just some fans talking about him like he's a surefire HOF'er that gets on peoples nerves. He's a good fighter and fun to watch. Fans should leave it like that and let his career unfold before bestowing greatness on him or any other fighter.

WHAT???? Did you see his fight with Ouma?? Ouma hit him at will. You guys are just plain dumb. Trying to claim this little guy with toothpick legs is a prime Tyson. He has not beat anyone worth a damn. You don't know **** about boxing. Prime Tyson didn't get hit. Ouma was hitting GGG everytime he threw a punch. GGG is a hype job.

Being hyped in MY opinion is always good more than bad, but I have to see him in a battle with a very good adversary to gauge him. He has all the tools, but his resume is lacking at the moment. I said the same thing about Carl Froch. Froch came on the scene late and made me repect him.

Great post man I can tell you know a lot about boxing. Lets see him tested. His hype is to much right now being he is fighting B class fighters at best.

What sucks for GGG is the 2-3 years he effectively lost during his contract dispute and mismanagement at the hands of Universum. Golovkin did not have any extended layoffs but Universum kept him in the shadows, protecting Sturm while letting Golovkin's career stagnate.

If GGG had started his career in the U.S. with Abel Sanchez, he would have been at least two years furthur along his swath of destruction.

    This^

He's got my undivided attention. It's been too long since we've had some new blood to shake things because he's a legitimate threat in the ring. GGG may be the future like Broner.

I have no doubts that he will be a top 10 ranked contender/titlist for years to come.

But let us be real, Stevenson has the far greater and more significant single win and is currently of a higher stature (being the lineal LHW champ > being the WBA/IBO, both from vacancy, titlist).

Now compare the hype GGG is getting to that of Stevenson.

Yes, GGG is tremendously overhyped. He makes Bute and Khan of 2 years ago look like proven iron badass future HOF'ers, in comparison.

Well, I consider myself to be pretty reserved in my judgement, but I still find myself a little disappointed when GGG doesn't just stride up to his opponent in the first seconds of the fight, tear out their still-beating heart and casually toss it onto the judges' desk before executing a dainty bow to the audience.;)

Obviously he's massively hyped, HBO are going all out to establish his name and brand, but he is also obviously a very, very good fighter.
