Is Gilberto Ramirez the Lucian Bute of this generation of Super middleweights?

While 3 of the other top 5 Super Middleweights are competing in the World Super series, with matches against each other inevitable, Ramirez is now fighting an African boxer who has never fought outside of Africa, and is number 101 on Boxrecs Super Middleweight Rankings. And his opponent after that being another relatively untested fighter in the Australian Rohan Murdock.

Is this the same thing Bute did a few years ago? Let the top fighters in the division fight it out while you build your profile taking easy fights?

IIRC Bute fought decent opposition in the circumstances, tried to fight Ward once he was available, couldn't so fought Froch instead.

Bute actually tried to get into the tournament, and shut out one of the tourney's semi-finalists only a couple of months after Froch struggled with him.
Beat Bika clearer as everyone ever before him (including Calslappy) and he decimated Miranda.

Of course you can fault him for fighting in his backyard all the time, but a lot of Americans, Brits and Germans have done the same troughout their careers.
20/20 hindsight after the Froch fight showed he was a frontrunner, but a very good one at that.

Bute had a decent run all in all. Ramirez is just pathetic so far.

Sorry what now? Froch struggled with Bute? Have you had a brain fart?

Read that sentence again with a couple of hints, and tell me who had the brainfart here.
Bute shut out one of the tournament semi-finalists > think who that is < only a couple of months after Froch struggled with him >in that semi final<

Meh, poorly phrased sentences lead to misunderstandings. BTW is Glen Johnson like Voldemort in your house? He who should not be named?

In any case 2 of the judges had quite wide scores for Froch and the press scores had Froch beating Johnson comfortably.

Froch had a lot of difficulties with Glen. Much more as expected beforehand.
That wasn't comfortably by any stretch of imagination.
    RBR... end of fight.

bute fought better people. ramirez fought an old abraham who has 168 was never all that good and one dimensional . an hart was a good fight a good challenge for him. but other then that the brusak fight was decent but this guy needs to get a move on

calling bute "glass jawed" is kinda pathetic. but one Thing is for sure: bute had balls. Ramirez only "gets" balls when teabagged by his mariachi boyfriend.

bute was the very definition of a paper champ, who got destroyed by froch on the one and only time he stepped up. he strolls through nothing
