Why does hbo act like canelo or golden boy doesn't exist? I remember them building him up then all of a sudden he's fighting on weak ass showtime:fire
Showtime took a big step this year in trying to gaina bigger boxing audience. This is all about money and leverage. Golden Boy was able to work a better deal out to put some of their stars on Showtime, probably in exchange for more dates. They worked out a deal to put the barclay's cards on showtime. You better believe HBO will always put the money behind Floyd and the new Mr. HBO Broner. This happens all the time, TR took Manny to showtime against Mosley to gain more leverage. Bob Arum has constantly critisized HBO in the past, but the bottom line is whoever pays more will have the show.
2012 was a bad year for HBO Boxing and Showtime is proving that boxing is a priority for them. Bottom line: competition is good.
What pistes me off is that showtimes on demand is Garbo compared to hbo. And whenever there's a fight on showtime there's always a delay..
I recall Scheafer alluding to HBO ****ing up around the Ortiz Lopez fight, cause of the conflict with the SM and Chavez fight, then Schaefer threatened to have all future matches on Showtime After that all TR fights have been on HBO and Golden BOy has ben on showtime, The rift has grown you now see HBO clearly pushing TR agendas........ Things aint all peaches n cream at HBO, the Merchant retirement struck me as odd, a house cleaning is being taken place, for what reason I don't know as of yet. I do know HBO boxing program takes a major hit if Floyd sides with GB and take his services to showtime
Broner & Garcia are pretty much the only ones on HBO still right? The Haymon contingent? Robert Guerrero... Who else?
Im based in the UK and watch most fights on my SKY box or order Boxnation but when I do watch a stream I enjoy watching HBO alot more than any other
