King's been keen on China for years.

At one point he was going to promote Herbie Hide vs Tommy Morrison there in 1995. Yes, Hide vs Morrison in China...make your own jokes please, lads.

D King will MAKE the Chinese crazy about boxing. He has a way of doing that kinda thing.

BTW, nobody said it was a joke when Wlad fought Austin, so whats your point?

I am having a hard time concentrating on the question with that avatar diverting my attention.

China is an odd place to stage boxing, yes. But.........bring it on!

That fight was held in Germany, not in China where boxing personalities are unheard of. A fight between Pacquiao and In Jin Chi was planned in Macau but it was called off because boxing was popular w/ the Chinese.

They've been trying to make inroads there. What's wrong with Don King trying to expand into new markets? Boxing has become a lot more popular in China in the past 5 years or so, and if the sport can make significant inroads there, it would be great for the sport.

No, it was called off because they couldn't work out the numbers, and then Chi retired. There absolutely will be big fights in Macau in the future - the casinos there are practically begging to host a big fight. They want to make Macau a gambling destination for countries other than China and Taiwan.

I dunno if Golota is fighting in China, but I know he fought there before...

Mike Mollo is suppose to be fighting Jameel McCline in China so this could actually be TRUE~!!
