Is Golovkin a ''small'' middleweight relative to the current weightclass roster?

I don't think he is. The only guy he fought who was bigger than him ''frame'' wise was Martin Murray. The rest of the guys he's actually been a bit bigger than.

    I dont agree.

When looking at Wade, Geale, and Lemiuex next to GGG in the ring, it's obvious they were bigger on the night.

Not saying size helped them cause it didnt but they had some on him, especially Wade.

Compared to the current roster yes, with all these massive weightdrainers in boxing at the moment. Compared to older generations certainly not.

He's the perfect middleweight size. Super middleweight is the max he can go up to.

He's better suited for SMW according to his own trainer.

    He's not a SMW.

He's 5'10, with a 70" reach, who makes weight easily.

On fight night, he's usually over 170 pounds for middleweight titles. I think 173 was his heaviest.

This suggests he's fine at super middleweight. As fighters age, they find it harder to make weight.

The one thing I think is exaggerated on GGG is his height. He's listed at 5'10 1/2, I think he a little shorter. I also think his reach is a little understated. His jab seems pretty long. Mangers screw around with the tale of the tape, who knows what the real truth is.

GGG's not an oversized cutter, but also not small. He is in the minority of champs today in that he wouldn't have to change divisions if same day weigh ins came back.

You have no clue how he would do fighting at 160 with same day weight-in. Logic dictates that he would be weak as water and would be hammered out in a few rounds.

    He's a solid MW.
    comes in between 170-175.

He's not huge, but I couldn't imagine him ever making 154
