Is Gonzalez too small to handle Inoue?

This could be an exciting superfight. But can Gonzalez handle the size?

Inoue is only 22 and he's already at junior bantam and Gonzalez took his time reaching flyweight. By the time the hype reaches enough buildup for a Gonzalez superfight Inoue will probably outgrow that division and be a bantam.

Inoue in general just looks like a bigger guy regardless of weight anyway.

I'm not so sure Gonzalez is too much for him. I think if he got in the ring and felt that size and strength he might encounter some problems.

Inoue sparks him, but these are really tiny people, built like 12 year olds, so who cares

At what weight class do you start paying attention to?

I was concerned about that since Naoya Inoue is more like Guillermo Rigondeaux sized and is probably going up to super bantam by the end of his career. Roman Gonzalez is an inch shorter with 4 inches less reach. But then I thought, well it's only an inch of height. Juan Francisco Estrada is an inch taller with two inches more reach and Gonzalez beat him. So he might be able to do it. The problem is what a monster puncher Inoue is for that super fly division. Fighting him will be like fighting Estrada on steroids.

But that's just the sort of thing I've come to expect of a #1 p4p fighter in the world. If he really is as good as people think he is then he should be able to do it. What's the point of being labeled the pound for pound king if all you ever do is fight people your own size or smaller? It's what we've expected of Pacquiao for years so why not Roman Gonzalez now?

I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt Inoue stops Chocolatito and brutally with a body shot, he's too big and hits too hard, and even at his young age is the total package, Tyson got his title at 22 why can't Inoue? Gonzalez is far better all around than Berbick but so was Narvaez.

if they'd ever fight (I think they will), I'd favor Gojira and by KO.
I do think it would be a hell of a fight though.

So Marvin Hagler wasnt all that? After all all he did was fight people his own size or smaller

As for people expecting it from Pacquiao.... no. People expected him to fight the Best in the division, not pick on the weakest trinket holders or drain guys to a shell of their self whilst roiding up away from the man who eventually decapitated him

Fighting the best is what is expected of a P4P King. Pacquiao and Mayweather wanted nothing to do with that. Marvin stayed at one weight yet faced the best - no ducking, no waiting til shot, no draining the life out his opponents. Golovin and Kovalev would do exactly the same if boxing wasnt so ****ed up.

how does it feel knowing tiny people built like 12 year olds could kill you with their bare hands?

The size difference is pretty big. Reach and height are both prohibitive. It'll be very difficult i think.

With Gonzalez's style and height/reach disadvantage I don't think he will be able to make it competitive. Fantastic fighter as he is and he will want the challenge. But I think Inoue will stop him early. Goes 3 rounds max.

I pick Inoue, pretty much just because he's bigger and his skills are nothing to scoff at either.

Inoue is just as tall as Viloria and has a slightly longer reach.
The reach advantage is almost 10 cm.
