Not looking good, Schaeffer challenged the 60-40 split and failed. GRJ has 10 days to accept the fight. With the way GRJ has complained about money, family etc. previously I see this as the way he is going to justify dropping out of his mandatory shot (He'll still be earning far more than he has previously and have a shot at a title he doesn't deserve). I thought this fight was as good as done, when there's a will (to not fight anyone with a pulse) there's a way.

This is a stupid rule. The person that DRAWS should be getting the bigger purse...

Either way, if this is true, I'm sure Golden Boy will provide more money to GRJ anyways.

It went to purse bid, it's a different situation and a fair rule. Lomachenko would be the larger draw in this fight regardless.

You think lomachenko would be the bigger draw? I actually don't know because I don't know both of their numbers. But I doubt he is from the fact grj was in the game for so long.

As for the purse bid, idk the situation. But, the person doing the draws should almost always be getting more. What makes this situation different?

Fat Dan said a few weeks ago he would be shocked if GRJ took the fight. His promotional team won so there is ZERO reason for him not to take this fight.

I think there's a 10% chance of this fight coming off.

GRJ has begged for title shots before, talked as if he were the best. 10% he makes the fight.

But I think he knows he going to lose, and that he has a built in excsue ($$$) to duck. 90% he ducks.

Been saying it since the purse split was announced.:good

Of course Lomachenko is the bigger draw, he's the two time gold medallist who fought for a title in his second bout. Even boxing fans don't care about GRJ.

Plus if you put this fight in Ukraine and it easily outdraws what it does in the us.

Would not be surprised at all, given his history of opposition I am a bit skeptical also.

especially as Lomachenko sides with the secessionists.

He's been very quiet on this subject and rightly so. He represented his country in the last Olympic games and now wishes his region the country to realign with Russia.

Not a popular political opinion to have ATM.:-(

    What makes you say that?

I find it a little odd seeing that he has been adamant in the past that he is Ukrainian and not Russian.
