Murray should have been a stoppage Len. He was out on his feet in the 7th, 8th & 9th. His corner didn’t look after him properly in my opinion. They left him in to take a hiding. Poor Gutknecht should have been a mid to late stoppage. The fella is wheelchair bound and mute as a result.
I think he's underrated...he was green when he fought Froch and he still performed well until the KO in the second fight, in spite of the split with Booth in the lead up to the first. I thought he beat Jack and that was despite having trainer issues... I also think Eubank Jr is being overrated... I expect Groves to win relatively comfortably by UD, 116-112 sort of score but we will see...
It is actually Eubank who is underrated, which should be easy to see. Eubank is the 1.66 (4/6) favourite, despite most people picking Groves. What does that tell you?
Yes. Some people underrate GG, some do the same with CEjr. Many overrate junior. A young Groves was up against a prime Froch. His only real loss in the 2nd fight. Jack fight is very debatable. At 29 with his experiences GG is at his prime. By his boxing style is easily underestimated against an active volume puncher. It's a visual self-con. He's got a hammer of a jab and a sledgehammer of a cross. The one thing that speaks for junior is his work rate. Ah, and energy. And he talks a good fight and has a much better personality on screen than his father. Abraham was a punch bag. Yildirim ... come on, guys! BJS showed GG how to do Junior. I have bet on a Groves win. Might actually put more money on a stoppage.
Some have written off Groves and bought in to the Jr hype. I am not digging those people out, if you like a fighter and believe in him then you go over the top sometimes. Jr might win Saturday but it still won't justify some of the things that have been said about him and the hype surrounding him. It's almost as if the BJS fight didn't happen, Jr isn't unbeaten, he isn't invincible but yes he has improved since then but he still has huge flaws and I believe they will be exposed again. Yes Groves has shown or looked to have stamina issues in some fights, not nearly as bad as some people will have you believe. Froch I, wasn't a legit stoppage in my opinion, Groves put an amazing amount of work in to the fight early, dropped Froch heavily and was a mile in front in my opinion, started to slow and Froch is a tough tough man who came on strong late (Taylor for example), anyway that's why we got a rematch because most didn't think it was a fair stoppage, it wasn't because Groves was out on his feet David Price style and it was waved off. Froch II, very even fight up until that superb right hand and let's be honest here, even though I wasn't a fan Froch will be remembered as one of Britains best super middleweights, Froch fought everybody, people forget Froch has said it was the best right hand he has ever thrown and that is some statement, and again it wasn't as if Groves was knocked out by a jab when he was completely spent (like Benn was Vs Watson for example) Jack, Groves was caught cold and dropped early, he was away from home, got up, survived, showed a tremendous amount of heart and fought his way back to a split decision loss and quite a few people believed he won. Go and look at how a DeGale struggled with Jack late and compare that to how Groves faired in the championship sounds, Groves wasn't out on his feet. Jack is a very very big strong man, Groves wasn't mauled, drained, thrown around or dropped again. In my opinion when thinking about Groves some people are looking a results, remembering the end of fights, the highlights and not really thinking about who the opponent was and what actually happened in the entire fight. Same with Jr, they are looking at highlights of him blasting out Yildrim and just believing Groves is going to get the same treatment.. It's worth remembering that Eubank Jr is no Froch and Groves isn't no Yildrim.
I think Eubank could tko Groves late. I expect the pace to be fast and if Groves tires I think JR could stop him on his feet, with a flurry.I'd love Groves to starch him though.
Sorry Twenty but i don't agree with you here. The Groves that lost to Froch is way way better than the one today. Quicker, more explosive and most importantly very very hungry. I think he is favourite vs Eubank and rightly so based on merit but Eubank wants it more. Whether he can take Groves's power early will be the key for me. If he doesn't get taken out/made to 2nd guess his offence from fear of what's coming back will dictate the outcome of the fight. If he can handle the power i see him stopping him late.
Groves is only being under rated by the casuals who have jumped on the Eubank bandwagon because of his name and really do believe he is about 8 years younger than Groves rather than a few months.Ask the people who know their boxing and they will pick Groves to win this handily.
Groves is on the way to being shot. Definitely has not been the same fighter since the second loss to Froch. He looks slower, his body looks badly drained, and he just looks physically declined. Just look at the Jamie Cox fight, he didnt look good in there despite winning via KO in 4 rounds. I fully expect Groves declining athleticism to be a factor in the fight, to the extent that he loses the decision or gets stopped. He has never been blessed with stamina and this will definitely be a factor. CEJ is also very hungry, has great stamina and has never taken a beating in his career. His only loss was a nip and tuck UD vs BJS. He has improved since then. Clearly had this been the Groves prior to Froch got to him, then I would make him a favourite to stop CEJ or win a comfortable UD.

Yes and Eubank has been a bit over rated. I don't mind though because it means a Groves win will look very impressive and do a lot for his career. I'm slightly favouring Groves to win this fight.
