is Groves blowing his chance for this rematch? seems like he has gone the wrong way about getting Froch back in the ring, to me his own antics are as bad as Froch's at this point. he should have just agreed the bloody rematch for 15%, he forgets that Froch been doing this at top level a log time and deserves much more money, Groves has a whole career of big pay days. I was firmly on George's side but all this running to court stuff is changing my mind personally. He is acting like a diva, there have been questionable decisions in the past and fighters have accepted it, what makes him different? I really want to see him take the rematch and win but he seems to be doing his best not to make it happen.

I agree to a certain extent apart from the "whole career of paydays". Any boxer's next fight could be their last so they need to make the most of every single fight financially.

What makes him different is not just accepting it and bothering to fight his own corner.
The more this goes on the more I think that neither man wants a rematch.
Froch is in no rush to take those kinds of shots again as he really did get a mauling for 6-7 rounds.
Groves realises that he may have had his best crack at Froch and that a rematch may not be the formality that some think. I feel that he would prefer Froch to vacate and box for the IBF title against someone else.

He was screwed over in the first fight.

People should be screaming for the roof tops for justice to finally be done for once. Surely we are all sick of the bull**** we see week after week?

I'd much rather we complain about fights that are stopped too early than too late.

I see what you're saying. But you cant just 'accept' something if you feel you being conned. Pride comes into play

Im always rooting for Froch, and one of the few on here who thinks a rematch will be very different. But still, 15% is taking the **** considering its both of them bringing in big bucks for the rematch.

    65/35 is fair imo

Can't have it both was though. Appealed to the IBF got them to mandate a re-match, then complaining about the IBFs splits, which were known prior to appealing.

groves wanted and asked the ibf to do something they did they gave him the rematch as he asked for and reranked him by thier rules just as george asked and that brings him to his 15% ,
purse bids or going down any time soon for this george could end up with more or even less

And how many fights are actually stopped clearly too late?

The problem that exists is with early stoppages and British refs not having a clue what they are doing. Saying things like "better too soon than too late" just gives them an excuse for their complete incompetence. Not only are British refs ruining fights, but they also make us look corrupt, because it's normally the "away fighter" that gets stopped early and the home fighter we suspect would be given a lot more of a chance.

At least as many as are stopped too soon.
They make mistakes like everyone else but on the whole British referees do a good job.

I agree with the point that Groves should fight his corner but trying to overturn the decision is a step too far imo, surley its a wasted effort and does more to push the rematch away. some of the stuff Groves says and does at this point, its almost like he wants Froch to avoid him over spite. I also agree he has to make the most out of the pay day as its not a given he will have a long career. I guess it depends how much he actually wants this rematch.
