This is a Guzman thread, and pusshead is talking about how Cal at this point in his life is a feather fisted fighter lol. You once called me a good poster when I want to be Dinamita lol. I've never called you a good poster lol...

    :rofl:rofl

So your evidence on Guzman not being feather fisted is that he couldn't KO Soto. ONE FIGHT. Damn your ******ed. Wouldn't it make more sense to look at his entire career?

Guzman is a brilliant offensive fighter, who throws sick combinations, and has the skill set to trouble anyone in the sport. When he can't knockout journeyman fighters, who he is completely dominating, that suggests he is feather fisted. Do you not agree?

Please respond with something that makes sense, dont' start crapping on about Shaq and his 4th ring and freestyling, it does not interest me in the slightest. Cheers.

Read my post again lol. I was being sarcastic about Guzman first off. Second, I don't understand fans calling world championship fighters fighters feather fisted. I don't care if fans say this fighter can or can't punch. It is their opinion. I've seen too many fighters who aren't considered punchers become legends before my eyes.

Calzaghe cannot punch like he used to, for whatever reason, the evidence of that was glaringly obvious in the Jones fight. Right now, I say he is 3rd after Malignaggi and Mora, excluding the very low weight fighters as stoppages are less common down there.

Jambo is this ******ed? He is talking about a 36 year old fighter in Calzaghe...lol

I'd say it's a toss up between Malignaggi, Guzman, and Calderon.. Calzaghe isn't quite as light a hitter as those guys, he just likes to slap a lot. Although Guzman can be a bit of a slapper himself.

J.R, great point. Even if a poster like Dinamita doesn't like Cal because some posters get on his nerves by saying Cal should be ranked over PAc since he has a better record, fought decent comp, and has never been ko'd in 3 rounds twice, and never got revenge against the guys who ko'd him... doesn't mean Cal is a feather fisted fighter. Anyway, the guys you mentioned...we should call them feather fisted champions...right? Good post:good

This whole TKO vs KO thing is a weak, weak arguement. You don't stop guys if you have no power. If you're going to say this, then you might as well put Chad Dawson on the list seeing as he has only 1 KO in his second pro fight and landed the kitchen sink against guys like Adamek and Tarver and didn't really phase them in the slightest.

If Calzaghe really has hand problem now, then it is true that he is feather fisted now.

You guys simply don't know what you are talking about. Guzman has some power, obviously it's below average at 135, but he does have it.. you can't compare him to an actual featherfisted fighter like Malignaggi who can't get absolutely any opponents, including ones with very weak chins who are smaller than him to show him respect. Opponents like Soto and others showed respect for Guzman's power when he sat down on his counters. If you watched the fight yesterday, you could see that Guzman was not going for the stoppage at all. He was having fun playing with Diaz and moving/boxing instead, like he has loved doing for years now. If he went for the stoppage, attacked Diaz with full on aggression, then there would be something to discuss. But he didn't.. so all you can discuss is Guzman's entertaining jazz-like boxing clinic on a C level fighter. It was beautiful..

Guzman's name is not really hot right now. Why don't he do something that will make people talk about him (i.e. KO his opponent)? The answer is, he can't. He doesn't have the power to do it.
