By the time he's hung them up Tim Cahill will have been our GOAT. In any case we've had others as good as Harry Kewell, such as Craig Johnston.

Getting Leeds to the champions league semis outweighs anything he could have done at Celtic.

Timmy is a very likable guy and is ten times the person kewell is. His anticipation and his knack for poaching goals are brilliant, but he's not on the level that a prime kewell was.
Timmys pretty much on his way out now too.

He could've won the UEFA Cup at Celtic. He would've been part of one of the greatest Celtic teams of all time - their treble winning 2000-2001 team which contained Henrik Larsson, Chris Sutton, Neil Lennon, Paul Lambert and Stilian Petrov. Leeds getting to the Semis all but sank the club. Something from which they still haven't recovered. Viduka has said in interviews since that he regrets leaving the club.

Absolutely. ICT was about as low as it gets. They beat Celtic 3-1 at Parkhead and were a division 1 side at the time. Viduka spat the dummy at half time, refusing to go back on the field while trailing 2-1 and should never have worn the Hoops again. It lead to The Sun coming up with the headline: "Super Caley go Ballistic, Celtic are atrocious".

in my opinion Viduka made the right move going from Scotland a lower league in Europe to a top 5 European league in the epl. The exposure and quality opposition week in week out was so much more significent. Viduka did well for himself in Scotland considering i wouldnt consider it a league that wouldnt ideally suit a skillful touch player. i can only dream how Viduka would have went in some of the elite continental leagues of Europe like Serie A and the Bundesliga where he would have thrived.

It was a great move for both parties. Celtic got 6 million and spent it on a better player (Chris Sutton) and Viduka moved to a bigger league. **** moving eventually to Middlesbrough though, big step down, despite them having some good years. When he signed for the Hoops he also walked out on the club for months citing stress.

    Au contraire

When the masses like something, it means that more people like something than dislike something

If you dont like something that is but your opinion

Its, of course subjective, but popularity & majority generally rules

Didnt Dukes play in a UEFA Cup final with Boro?
Winning a UEFA still doesnt really compare to a semi's appearance in the CL though, as UEFA is a 2nd rate competition.

When you look back at the late 1990's to early 2000's Leeds United had a very good team.

I don't know what others think but I would love to eventually see both Glasgow Celtic and Rangers one day in the English premier league. I realise that it would kill the Scottish league but having a ridiculous 2 horse race each season has already killed it. Maybe have the 2 clubs play in England and their reserves/squad players continue on in the Scottish league.

Imo, the current Celtic team would get relegated in the EPL.
If they were to be granted entry into the EPL, they'd need to spend big just to finish mid table.

I agree with you that both clubs would really struggle initially in the premier league and possibly / probably get relegated but as the years pass and with an incredible supporter base I believe both clubs could eventually build to become regular top half finishers in the league if not contenders. Both are famous clubs and imo wouldn't find it hard to attract top players once in England. They can't at the moment due to the poor league that they play in.

They'd also get massive tv deals which would let them spend big.
I dont ever see it happening though, as the EPL is great the way it is. The Scotish admins should look to find ways of getting the rest of the league up to scratch, or there abouts with Celtic and Rangers. Very hard to do, but for the good of the SPL, it needs to happen.

La Liga is shaping up in similar fashion too. It's basically like a SPA on roids.
