is it just me, or is this an obvious duck... hatton wants one or 2 more fights against a champion & a big name.... hatton vs khan would be massive either in the uk, or i dare even say, given the right spin, in america aswell why is this fight not happening, a passing of the guard so to speak, i dont see why GBP arent trying to push for this fight its not a dig at hatton, i think personally he would be insane to take this fight & would loose in 5 rounds max, its merely an observation and i was wondering what u guys thought of it
I think the term "ducking" should be reserved for champions not taking their rightful challengers and guy's who claim to want to be at the top not attempting to fight the real champs. Hatton knows damn good and well he's not trying to be top dog anymore and that's why Khan and Bradley are out of the picture for him.
Khan beats Kotelnik and Sailta and suddenly everyone is ducking him... Is all this talk a way of avoiding the obvious...that Khan is blatently ducking his mandatory??
no its not, i just think its a fight that birtain would love to see & its a fight that the casual fans would really get bahind, grosing loads of money, something hatton would be after in his 1 or 2 fights left, i think if khan hadnt looked so good recently then this fight would be happening
Hatton/Khan would be much bigger if Hatton can come back against a decent name and win in style, people might just jump back on the bandwaggon again. Going straight into a Khan fight on the back of being sparked unconscious and over a year out eating pies whilst considering retirement would be daft.
...Maybe this fight mightnt be the best for Ricky, I also think Kahn would beat him easily (and it kills me to say that!) ... But on the other hand Id love nothing better than for Hatton to land a nice knockout left hook on Mr.Glass! ...Not everyone is ducking Kahn, Id like to see Maidana smash him!
Hatton probably thinks why bother? Hatton just wants 1 more fight and to go out with a better situation than sparked out in 2. Even if for example he lost on points to Marquez people would consider this a credible last effort. If he lost bad to Khan it would look terrible because he is so many levels below the people he's previously lost to. He has very little to gain and a great deal to lose by fighting Khan. Hatton makes huge money fighting TBA, whereas Khan only makes it against Hatton. Hatton should offer Khan a £1m paycheck and he gets to keep all other profits because Khan does not make this elsewhere. This is the only way to justify the risk/reward. Also if it got to negotiations you'd get a load of BS about Khan being the champ and deserving at least 50-50 which is a total joke. Because Hatton sells out any arena/stadium in country and does huge PPV, Khan has to keep moving round the country because he does'nt have following to sell out O2 or MEN 2/3 times a year also his PPV numbers are modest.
Hatton isn't ducking anyone...he's said himself he wants 1 or 2 big fights and then retire. Why whip the ass of a young up and comer and then retire? That's just bad for boxing. and make no mistake, Hatton WOULD whip that ass. Khan needs to stop ducking his challengers if he wants to be a titleholder. He says alot about trying to get big fights to build his name and get recognition...how about beating a fighter your own level rather than trying to springboard off guys who are on their way out? I still think Marquez would win, but let's see khan beat someone good before he starts worrying about building his name up. Who's Khan beaten? Kotelnik.
The question is based on the ******ed premise that if you have not got a fight lined up against a fighter then you are ducking said fighter. It doesn't work like that kiddo, thats what happens in the kindergarten playground.
