There certainly are but how does he prove his the top tog at his weight when Hatton refuses to fight him? Didnt Hatton leave Warren for that same said reason?

No he wouldnt. He`d be recognised by consensus as the best man at 140. Thats a massive achievement for him and the same achievement that Hatton vied for prior to beating Kostya. Its every fighters goal to fight the best man in his division. Witter is no diffrent to 99% of all fighters.

If Hatton retired tomorrow the linear title and RING belt would be vacated, presumably for a pair of fighters to scrap over.

For some reason, Lazcano is a name (don't know why myself).

A guy who has lost to both Harris and Castillo (Witter KO'd one, Hatton the other) can't be all that.

This won't be a real scrap really, more of a punchbag exercise for Ricky!

Hatton apparently left Warren for a number of reasons, and his gripe with him had been building up for some time, with the final straw being his attempt at a contract negotiation following the Tszyu fight. Warren assumed that Hatton would just sign on the dotted line, instead he played the field and made a **** load of cash.

[Don't quote me on this, Frank may sue me too]

He ducked Junior Witter and fought Maussa, Collazo, Urango and he's fighting Lazcano.

getting beat off a guy like Mayweather is one thing, getting beat off a relatively low profile local rival who you have sneered at for years would end the hype and big paydays once and for all.
THAT is what he is scared of.
YES, too right he's ducking Witter.

Hes not ducking him, because of all the time Witter has been bitching, he has only earned it after his last fight.

It just seems like hes been avoiding him forever, when in reality Witter didn't deserve that high level of a fight until now.

Hatton will destroy him if this fight ever happens, he is a different class.

Stick to the MMA forum as this post surely qualifies for ESB`s "**** post of the year award".

Just to give you some knowledge, prior to when Hatton fought Kostya he defended the WBU title at least 14 or so times. Meanwhile Witter was a triple domestic champ. There comp was essentially the same and both fighters hadnt moved into "real" world class. If you believe Witter has only earnt his crack recently then its abundantly clear you know absolutely squat about there rivalry as fighters since the days when both promoted by SN.

    Which option is more plausible?

    a) Hatton has been ducking Witter for years because Witter said "One day" a year or so ago.

    b) Hatton is ducking Witter because he thinks their is a good chance he would lose and look like a complete muppet.
