Not a HOF'r at th moment. Beating Pac and Paulie will help his case.

I disagree. For the HOF your accomplishments SHOULD be higher than that which is expected of your average champion. Not saying this is always the case but it is the way it should be.

But that brings up another issue.

Does it make a certain fighter worthy of the HOF, because he's more worthy than someone else who got in?

Or would it just be another mistake and another unworthy fighter ends up in Canastota?

ya...in the wwe or some type of wrestling organization. i don't even consider him a boxer, he tries wrestling more than actually throw punches. dude sucks :)

Very good point. Jus cos Mcguigan got it in doesn't meen that Hatton should automatically gain entry to Canastota as he's seemingly done more. The HOF should be for elite fighters who not just were decent champs in their time but fighters who can be named alongside ATG's in their weight class and not look out of places. Fighters who are special talents who exemplify a generation. I don't think Hatton is in that class yet.

Sorry im a bit tired and may have worded my post wrong. I wasn't saying he is or isn't deserving of a slot i was just saying that if he beats Mallinaggi and Torres (and i suppose you could throw Bradley in there to) then he has cleaned up his division which is what a fighter really should do. So basically he will be the top dog of his era in the light welterweight division. However that era was pretty poor so it really depends on what your criteria is for thinking people are deserving of a Hall spot.

If i was pushed to make a decision then i would probably say that he isn't deserving due to the lack of quality opponents he has beaten.

One truly great performance v Tszyu, one very very good win over Castillo, makes him an excellent fighter but definitely not yet HOF. If he beats Malignaggi then Torres or Pacquiao, probably then yes, he would be an all-time great at 140. Then again, if Barry McGuigan made the HOF for 3 world title defences, get him in there.

It's a Hall of 'Fame' so he probably will make it in. I don't think he deserves it though, but then again, neither do many other fighters who are currently in. It's always funny talking about the HOF because of how bogus it actualy is. How can you really argue puttting a guy in or not when the criteria is so unclear?

I don't know WTF they were thinking with Barry. Now every time that a HOF debate comes up people say "well if Barry Mcguigan got in ____".

Imagine if I asked if if it would be o.k. for me to bang an 8 year old girl and you were like **** yeah I know a dude that banged a 5 year old. The whole Barry Mcguigan argument is flawed.

No, he´s not. Why should he get into the HOF right now? By losing to Money Mayweather:roll: ?

I think he deserves it, he has pretty much single handly made boxing popular again in Britain, heart of a lion and very entertaining - oh and never beaten (yet) at 140.

    In you go son! :thumbsup
