Is Hatton in the situation Gatti was in at 140?

Gatti did well at JW, but had alot of problems getting down to the JW division. He goes twice to the WW division and just can't compete with the elite. I am talking about the first time with Oscar and then he went down to JW and won a title and then he goes back to WW and fails at beating the elite. Is this the road Hatton is going to be forced to deal with. I believe he was competing very well at JW, but making those two trips to WW is costing him. Maybe he did not train the way he is suppose to in order to get down to a healthy JW. I hope that is the case and he comes back looking sharp. If he were to lose to dreadlocks, he is done. Too bad there is no inbetween JW and WW. That was Gatti's statement.

Gatti would get destroyed by De La Hoya at any weight. Gatti going up in weight to face DLH just made it worse.

By the time Gatti went to 147 after the Mayweather loss, age, the night-life, and horrendous beatings in the ring had caught up with him, although he did look decent against Damgaard.

Gatti wasn't really that small at 147 IMO. He was huge in the lower weight classes and weighed 160 on fight night when he "weighed-in" at 141 against Gamache.

True with Oscar. True with the second statement.Yes, I remember that horrible night with the weight, but is Hatton caught inbetween like Gatti. Hatton would not beat Cotto, PBF, Marg, and the list goes on. He almost got knocked out at the WW title fight and he got stopped with PBF. I really don't think PBF is a knock out puncher. He will wear you down and I did not think Hatton was worn down at the fight. He just got caught by a WW.

Well, I don't know about at 140, but he certainly does as poorly as Gatti at 147.

Thats just because Hatton is no more a WW then structually bigger guys like Floyd, Margo or Cotto are Middle weights. They to would be knocked all over the place by the likes of guys like Pavlik. Hatton is a small JW weight and that where he belongs. He has more business fighting guys from the lower weights, guys his own size.

Hatton has always been one of the biggest 140 lbers in the world.

He's a bit short, not small.

That's not true check out the stats, hes smaller then Pack even (in all baring thigh and waist). Hatton has only ever fought two guys shorter then himself in all his 45 fights.

True Gatti had a better frame for moving up.

Hatton is a limited fighter. That is why he has the style he has. He can't box people from the outside and be first in exchanges. He will lost to Paulie and Bradley.

Stats are all **** most fo the time.

Hatton has always been big and we are not just talking about out height here. We are talking about the whole package.

He came into the ring for most of his fights at 140 at 154 and is known for looking bigger than nearly all of his opponents.

Hatton has always had a reputation for being a big light welterwight who cut's weight hard and puts on a shitload's of weight between the weigh in and the fight.

Yes a "reputation", but when you look at the bare facts it doesn't hold up. Hes not good at welter because his smaller frame doesn't carry the weight. He gives up a 6 or 7 inch reach to Floyd who isn't a big Welter himself.

Structurally Hattons smaller then little pacman. He has no business at Welter hes too small.

From what I understand they are both the same height at 5'6 and a half with Pac having a one inch or half inch reach advantage.

Ive never heard of him struggling to make weight for 140. It wouldnt even be possible if he would stop going up to 180-190 in pure fat between fights. Trainings alot easier when you focus on the fight itselfs rather then shedding 40 pounds. This is what sets Hatton apart from the true best fighters in the world Mosley,Hopkins,Mayweather,Calzaghe,Pacquiao guys who dont go living like obesse people between fights.

Well, if Hatton wants to continue to be sucessful, he needs to not go over 160 after fights. He has enough money to employ a chef and nutritionist. If he only wants a few fights more which can be PBF, Paulie, and Pac, then he has to really crack down on his eating habits or he is going to get seriously knocked out , not stopped. Yoyo diets will hurt you. After I had fights, I would still train and run. It is not like I am going to just sit in front of my tv and drink junk food and beers all day. Those mega paydays are going to go out the window if he would to lose to Paulie.
