Is Haye better than Brewster?

Haye's better boxer but not better HW boxer

 

Haye is quicker than Brewster was and has a little more skill. THAT'S IT. Lamon had a WAY better chin, better gas tank, and I don't care what anyone says ...Brewster hit harder.

Those bombs that Brewster ate when he fought Wladimir ...Haye wouldn't be able to endure half of those. Put it this way, if Haye fought Brewster in 2004 or even 2007 he would get knocked out. Plain and simple. Brewster would take what Haye would have to give and eventually find Haye's dome or chin before the 4th.

 

David has a lot more speed and is more explosive, he has that pop in his punches whereas Brewster is more heavy handed, has a greater chain and a lot more endurance.

David is more athletic and is more in his head than Lamon was in 2004. Stylistically, David is more of a nightmare to Wlad than Brewster because he is a counter-puncher while Brewster is on the attack most often.

 

On July 2nd we will all see the difference in Brewster and Haye's chin.

 

Or we will see that the Wlad's improvements are just a myth and that he is still the glass-jawed ***** he's always been.

Interesting fight. Not a great performance by Wladimir, but he certainly did try to get Brewster out of there. Amazing performance by Brewster to whether the storm.

Not really a great setting for Wladimir--this fight was probably too soon after the Sanders loss, but I guess regaining the WBO title was too tempting to pass up. The ref kept Wlad from holding, so there was no resting--Wlad threw everything in his arsenal for 5 rounds and then completely folded.

Doubtless Wladimir has improved considerably since just as Haye has improved since losing to Thompson. But stamina was the weakness of both men when they lost in 2004. If the fight goes into the late rounds, we will see whose stamina has improved the most.

 

Haye is a lot better than the Shot Brewster (ruined by brutal Liakhovich war) that Wlad beat in the rematch.
