We all know Tony Thompson is Haye's main sparring partner, and when a flamboyant guy like Haye doesn't come and say how he's handling his sparring partners it gets me thinking maybe Tony's beating that ass. I expected by now to have seen footage or a haye quote talking about sending sparring partners home early. Well one things for sure I will find out what happened shortly Tony Thompson has a big boxing family in DC so the word will get out soon enough. I expect it to be either one or the other 1. Tony has been beating Haye's ass through camp, and demands a shot at the title. 2. Tony will talk about how fast, and good Haye is, and show nothing but respect. If any of you Brits got any word or footage of how sparring is going please share with us. I'm gonna hit the local gyms Monday and get back to ya if there is any news
Haye is always respectful to his sparring partners. I've never heard him talking about beating them up, and that's obviously not Thompson's role anyway. He isn't there to test Haye, other sparring partners can do that. Instead, he's there to help Haye adjust to being in there with a big southpaw.
I'm not too sure Haye has ever come out and exclaimed he has been battering his sparring partners. This also doesn't mean that as a result Thompson is hitting lumps out of him either, plus it's not exactly ideal preperation for Haye if he was just continuosly getting knocked about in the weeks leading up to a fight. Regardless, it's just sparring.
Good bit of foreshadowing. I look forward to your fantasy threads on how Haye is getting his ass handed to him etc.
As arrogant as Haye is, I think he's never really spoken bad about his sparring partners. Actually, it's the sparring partners that actually admit they've been the ones getting whipped by Haye. BJ Flores is a great friend and sparring partner of Haye never said anything bad about him.
Ironically i think he actually has said, the sparring partners can't handle him in sparring, or words to that effect. Don't know why people put so much stock in sparring stories though.
Maybe Tony Thompson can share with David what it's like to have some balls, earn a title shot, and actually get in the ring with Wladimir Klitschko and last 10+ rounds......something David can't seem to grasp.
