Because he undoubtedly brings more money to the table. A fight in Britain makes more money than in Germany and British PPV brings more than any other nation. Even if you want to consider Germany, Ukraine, Russia etc. as all being money Wlad alone brings in, British PPV eclipses all that.
But instead of fighting real opponents he pulls Audley Harrison up...that to me was greedy more than about boxing....
Maybe but that's an entirely separate argument. Haye deserved more than 50/50, even if he isn't the 'true' champion, yet he accepted 50/50 to make the fight happen.
Still an arguement about greed. He was risking his 1 belt to Wlads 3/4, risk surely has to equate to some healthier split for Wlad...
nobody pays to watch the klits anymore. david haye will have every boxing fan and more in the UK buying this fight. he brings the money!!!
If Haye brings in all the money by himself then why does fighting Wlad for 50/50 make Haye double or triple the money that fighting Chagaev for 70/30 would make him :deal
The reason why Haye declined 2.7 fight isn't about money. All seamed to be settled, the only thing was Wlad announcing that he would take the Chisora -fight before July. If and when this seems to be the only reason why Haye won't fight Wlad, it's obvious that Haye just don't want to face Klitschko.
Wlad obviously brings more than Chagaev but not 50/50. Against Harrison, a guy nobody gave a chance, Sky sold 750,000 on PPV which is 13m Euros. Way more money than what's involved in any Klitschko bout on TV. When you consider the massive amount they made at the arena, then it's more than the Klitschko's can make, without question.
In another thread, I posted this: The main problem, in my opinion, is Haye’s desire to maximize his earnings from now and until this stupid October – the month he’s insisting on retiring. That’s right. After a wasted summer of 2009 and a complete joke of a 2010, he’s left everything until the last minute and is expecting Wladimir to accommodate his plans. Honestly, this tune-up fight against Chisora is not a big deal at all, yet he’s forcing it to be one. It can so easily be arranged to be like this: April 2011 – Wladimir’s tune-up against Chisora May 2011 – Haye’s tune-up against Chagaev Autumn/Winter 2011 – Wladimir vs Haye Late winter 2011/Early 2012 – Vitali vs Haye. But with his stupid retirement plans, he won't let the above be. He's giving himself only two more fights, and he wants to earn as much as he can from them.
That is assuming he gets past Wlad in Autumn/Winter 2011...I can't see him facing Vitali if he loses.
Gotta be the first time in HWT history the real champ (Wlad) settles for less than the bigger share Haye is just a buisnessman who cherry picked a good deal of his career and is just trying to get a final pay day this guy is a joke
