Is Haye really the reason Sky no longer have boxing on BoxOffice?

I was slightly confused when Chisora claimed Sky pulling out of BoxOffice was Hayes fault.

I've heard it before but never understood why. Can anyone enlighten me please?

All his PPVs sold so why pull out??? Does it cost Sky more money on Box Office or something?

Or was it simply due to public opinion?

It was because of the Audley fight.

Sky only have themselves to blame, though, because they pushed for that fight knowing they could con the general public into buying it.

Frank ****** putting a British title fight and Cleverly vs Bum of the Month on PPV probably didn't help either, mind.

Probably not "the reason" but certainly a major contributory factor.

Sorry, but I still don't get it..

Haye, Harisson sold. Ok it was a **** fight but it sold... If Ricky Hatton was still about today are you honestly say Sky wouldn't put in on Box Office,

There was a big backlash after that fight which meant Sky were less willing to put average cards on PPV like they did with Khan and ******'s Magnificent 7 like cards.

You're right, though. They'd be all over PPV if they knew they had something that would sell. They'd be idiots not to.

The Magnificent 7 was actually a top card. Don't usually get depth like that on any card these days...even PPVs.

The Audley thing was really Sky's fault. We tend to forget now but the great Eddie Hearn pushed for that fight and all parties involved realised a lot of money could be made from. The general public were mugs for taking in the hype - everyone knew it was a mismatch.

I find it funny how audley is now responsible for two major channels dropping boxing. This is his legacy.

    :deal

Its the cards with one big fight that turns out to be **** and a poor undercard that are the problem. The Mag 7 was a great nights boxing IMHO.
